Teriyaki Box | SUSHI & RAMEN — Restaurant in Manchester

I've had this place several times for takeout. My favorite is the Hibachi Bowl with Chicken and Chicken Tempura Roll. However, I was always curious about the All You Can Eat advertised on the menu. So, being a fan of similar restaurants like Sushi House in Rocky Hill and hearing they opened the All You Can Eat menu again, I decided to try it. Though it was the first time I had dined inside, the restaurant still looked excellent when I picked up my orders, like Kobe in Manchester with the lighting and atmosphere in all the best ways. The AYCE menu has two sections, Kitchen (the non-sushi bar stuff) and Sushi (the Sushi Bar items). I ordered favorites like the California Roll and new things like the Dumpling Soup. It surprised me for all the right reasons. The food was fantastic. The kitchen items were all hot and fresh and were friendly apps to the main course. The dumpling soup was a surprise favorite, with some good broth and fresh dumplings. The sushi was as fresh as ever and was very tasty. Though I was disappointed the Chicken Tempura Roll wasn't on the AYCE menu, the Shrimp Tempura is still a decent substitute. I came from NY to stay in Manchester, CT for a swim meet at UCONN. While at away meets I typically try and eat grilled chicken for lunch and sushi for dinner. Initially I was set on dining in Hana’s Sushi my first night here, but was told that they were out of rice. This led me to find Teriyaki Box, and although I was initially bummed about Hana’s rice shortage that day, I am very thankful it led me to find this amazing restaurant. The service is some of the highest quality I have ever seen. As a person of habit I would come back every night the 4 day meet was held and the waitresses and staff treated me as a regular and even remembered my order. The last 2 days I was here the Sushi Chef even went as far as to decorate my eel cucumber roll (picture provided), as well as treat me to a special dish free of charge (picture provided). Even without all the specialties and impeccable costumer service the sushi is excellent. Back when I first came here, I ordered a chicken bento box and I loved the assortment of foods that came in it. I do want to say that the vegetable tempura is good, but I personally prefer meat. However do try the Bento boxes! They really are the highlight of Teriyaki Box and it gives a good overall introduction to their specialties!

Anyhow, I came back recently to order something different; a couple variety of rolls among others. The chicken Tempura roll (sauce was good and chicken was nice!) and the Cucumber Roll!(cool and refreshing!) Along with those, I ordered Udon with Chicken and the Beef Hibachi bowl. Ok, I just love Udon! Its so filling as is, and the chicken sure filled me up quite a bit!!! The beef Hibachi bowl took me by surprise though, their fried rice was so good and a welcoming flavor to my tastebuds!
