Let me start by saying I will not return here to eat again. We were seated promptly and our drink order was taken. We asked the server what he recommended and when he said chicken strips, I should have known something then. I started off tasting the red gravy (marinara sauce). It was very good with a hearty flavor with a touch of sweetness. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They are not homemade, but they are some of the best frozen mozzarella sticks i have eaten. They were cooked with a good crispy outside and the flavor was very good. For the meal, we ordered a supreme pizza. The pizza came out promptly, however it wasn't great. All the toppings were in the middle of the pizza. The crust of the pizza was crispy but the center was undercooked and soggy. I was unable to hold my pizza and bite it because it just flopped over and everything fell off. The taste off the pizza ingredients is next to discuss. Let's start with the dough, it was okay but not great. There was an after taste left in your mouth from the bread. It was a bit tough to chew and had a powder like coating. The mushrooms had a very strong taste while being chewy. The worst part were the green bellpeppers. They were not cooked, being in the center of the pizza in a pike. It was like they were soggy and had been sitting in a liquid of some kind. Our serve never came back to ask how the food was, if we needed drink refills, or to offer a togo box. We had to ask for our ticket. Another server came by to ask how we liked our food and we were honest. We were told to come back on certain days when another cook was in because his pizza dont come out soggy. However, we will not be back for a 2nd round. This place has the potential to be a great place, the red gravy (marinara sauce) is very good but the service and pizza needs to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I start. I have been a chef for many years and I'm told that chefs can be the worst critics, but here I think I'm justified. At the table we ordered the bread knots as an appetizer and I had the eggplant parm. The bread knots were swimming in butter and the bottom was soggy with it, but still edible. I received my egg parm. The pasta was sitting in what looked like a pool of water with a bit of tomato sauce. It looked like they didn't drain the pasta before adding the sauce. The pasta itself is either over cooked, or it was prepped a couple of days ago. It was the opposite of al dente. Also the pasta was either lightly salted or not salted at all, which is important to do while the pasta is cooking. The eggplant itself looked deep fried, which isn't totally bad, but it was dark from either over cooking, the oil is old or it was par cooked and left under a heat source. The sauce on the eggplant wasn't watery, which is why I believe that the pasta was watery due to not draining it enough. The cheese was fine. I came in really hungry, I'm a bigger guy, and I'm looking forward to having a parm dish all day. I only managed to eat about half of it. 20 minutes later I ran to the restroom and threw it all up. That never happens to me. I let the staff know that there was a mess in the men's room and from what I hear, about 30 minutes later, it had not been cleaned yet. Eventually the server came by to see how the food was and I explained the situation. She got the owner l. He said that this is the first time he has heard of this happening and he offered to take the dish off of the bill and offered me a different dish, but I had lost my appetite. I hope he sees this and knows that I mean no ill will. This was my expirience, and I hope that it is helpful for the future of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Coscinoās Italian Grill in Mandeville, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. ļæ¼
We arrived around noon and were seated immediately, with plenty of space available in the dining area. The service was prompt and attentive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable meal.
For starters, we ordered the Eggplant Sticks, which were lightly breaded, fried to perfection, and served with their house-made red gravy. They were a delightful beginning to our meal.
I opted for a calzone, which was generously filled and baked to a golden brown. While it included ricotta cheese, I found that it slightly overpowered the other flavors. Next time, I might customize it without the ricotta, but it was still delicious.
Others at our table ordered pizzas and the Chicken Parmesan. The pizzas were visually appealing, with a perfect crust and ample toppings. The Chicken Parmesan featured tender, breaded chicken topped with their signature red gravy and melted mozzarella, served over pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals. ļæ¼
There was a minor hiccup with one of the pizza orders due to a mix-up between pepperoncini and pepperoni. However, the staff promptly corrected the order and ensured that all our meals arrived within minutes of each other, demonstrating their commitment to excellent customer service.
