Where do I start with this review. I rarely write reviews but this time I felt extremely compelled. My husband and I went to BOA in Manhattan Beach to celebrate our late 6 month wedding anniversary and my birthday. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like VIPs. We were 15 mins early for our 7pm Saturday night reservation so we expected to wait until our table was available. To our surprise it was already reserved for us. Upon sitting we were told we know you are celebrating so please let us know if you need anything.
The attentive service was just the start. John our server was amazing. He did not walk by our table once without making sure we had everything we needed. Coincidentally his father is a local musician and my husband, also a local musician knew him. It’s such a small world in the South Bay.
Every manager who works at Boa; Michelle, Vinny all stopped by our table personally to welcome us and ensure we were having an incredible experience. Michelle, the manager, by far stood out as the star to me. The entire restaurant was packed but she made it a point to constantly check on us. What a gem she is and BOA is lucky to have her. Really, one of the best managers at a restaurant I’ve had the privilege of interacting with. Kevin, who made our table side Caesar salad was not only friendly but knowledgeable and walked us through each part of how their perfect Caesar is made.
The drinks from the bar, impeccable. Any cocktail with an egg white you have me sold. I loved my cocktail. My husband got an old fashioned, said it was the best he has ever had. Noting that he is also a bartender so that means a lot. From the appetizers; deviled eggs with caviar, hamachi crudo, even the bread I can’t even explain how good it was. My husband and I both had filets. Probably the best steak I have ever had in my lifetime. I’m incredibly picky about the cook on my steak as I like it medium and always find it to be too rare but this was perfection.
To top it off their wine list is incredible as well. We also had what they called a “boujee” baked potato and let me tell you, it was that! A twice baked potato with 2 types of caviar! I mean Geezus! Never seen or eaten anything like it. After trying pretty much every appetizer plus the amazing steaks; we finished our meal with the sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffees.
I cannot say enough about not only the food, but the staff. I have never been treated nicer in any establishment ever. To say this restaurant strives for excellence exudes from every single person who works there. The hostess, waiters, managers (especially Michelle), bussers. I cannot recommend a restaurant more! Pencil me in for my table every...
Read moreThis was my first anniversary and it turned out terrible. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm and entered the establishment on time but we were not greeted until ten minuets after. Once we were finally recognized as patrons we gave the name and the hostess let us know it will be a while for the table to become available. We were not offered a beverage or seating during this time which is customary for the establishment. We finally asked if we could sit at the bar until the table was ready which was answered with “if you find a seat” and no eye contact. We find bar seats and order cocktails, that were not made as written, as well as the famous crab cakes. The crab cakes never disappoint but the drink that was supposed to be an old fashioned was awkwardly sweet to which the bartended informed us he added orange sweetener. We continued to wait for the table and once the eight o’clock hour begin to roll by we decided to dine elsewhere. Couples around us were seated in a timely manor but we were left as if they could not see us. We asked for the check provided the payment and were charged double what we owed. We watch the bartended hand the card and folder to a different couple. We asked where the card was and he looked at us then back at the couple then simply walked away without explanation. He returned with the folder and card inside but without a word he threw away the receipt that was inside. I immediately asked what was thrown away and he ignored me. Then I asked once more what was thrown away and for him to retrieve it from the trash. The receipt thrown away was the exact amount that the card was charged. He did not offer an apology just a simple it will be reversed. We inform him it has already been charged. He get another gentleman by the name of Jamie Rousak. This gentleman did something on the pos but did not acknowledge us at all for the mishap. A different receipt was printed and once again another charge was made this time for the correct bill. I had to ask to speak with the manager as he made no movements to speak with us himself. He walks over and pretended to not know what the issue was then told us it will be reversed and handed us his card if we had more questions. We have gone to this chain multiple times but this was the first at this location and I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreI recently had the most incredible dining experience at BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan, and I can't stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a chic, sophisticated ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening.
The service at BOA Steakhouse was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations and catering to our preferences. They made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire meal.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, the food! Every dish we ordered was an absolute masterpiece. The steaks were cooked to perfection, with a mouthwatering sear on the outside and tender, juicy meat on the inside. The variety of cuts and the quality of the meat truly showcased why BOA is renowned for its steaks.
Aside from the steaks, the sides were equally outstanding. We tried the truffle mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, both of which were rich, flavorful, and complemented the main course wonderfully. And the desserts! The dessert selection was divine, and we couldn't resist indulging in the chocolate lava cake, which was heavenly.
The drink menu was impressive as well, with an extensive wine list and creative cocktails. The sommelier's expertise added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, as they expertly paired our dishes with the perfect wines.
What I truly appreciated about BOA Steakhouse was the attention to detail. Everything, from the presentation of the dishes to the elegant table settings, demonstrated a commitment to excellence.
While the experience was undoubtedly a splurge, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance made every penny worth it. Whether it's a special occasion or just a night out to treat yourself, BOA Steakhouse is a must-visit destination for any food lover in Manhattan.
I can't wait to return to BOA Steakhouse and relish in their remarkable dining experience once again. It's a place where memories are made and taste buds are forever spoiled! Highly, highly...
