I started to place my order at the Redondo Beach Galleria mall location but that option wasn’t available on the app. Being flexible I went for the second closest option to my home, remained on the app, and placed my order at this location. I should have resorted to placing my order at the RB location once I learned that the Manhattan Beach location wouldn’t honor my free reward, but unfortunately I didn’t follow my first mind. I went ahead & with my order (2 pizzas, 1 pasta). Since the app didn’t mention curbside pickup I called the restaurant and asked the lady that answered the phone about it after about 15 rings. She confirmed that curbside was available. I thanked her and made my way to MB. For those familiar with this mall and area you’ll recognize that parking is no longer available in front of the restaurant as the mall has been redesigned with new and more parking spaces and stores. I wasn’t sure where CPK’s parking was located so I called the restaurant once I was in the lot and let the host know that I had arrived and asked where I should park. The gentleman directed me to park in front of Tin Roof; then he asked if I’d like any utensils, condiments, etc. I said yes, and asked for parm and pepper flakes. He asked my car’s make and model and said someone would be out with my food. I advised him that CPK’s spots were filled. However, there was a spot right in front of their spots and the host/waiter wouldn’t miss my car. He said cool and thanked him and the call was concluded. 10 mins went by and no one with CPK attire or takeout food had entered the parking area. I called the restaurant to follow up and the phone rang about 20x and then disconnect. I called back but also started walking towards to restaurant as I knew my food was getting cold. Once I arrived inside CPK I saw that they received a new facelift as well. It looks nice. Unfortunately I also noticed that there were 3 young hosts at the front desk standing around and chatting... not busy. They greeted me, I said hello and immediately asked for the manager. I told the manager how I’ve been waiting and no one answered the phone after I called a second time to let her staff know that I was outside for curbside pickup. She jumped on it, grabbed my order, handed it to me, then asked... if I’d like utensils or condiments. Well I guess the guy that I spoke with on the phone earlier didn’t have time to do anything after disconnecting from our call. He couldn’t even grab and place the condiments i requested in my bag. Smh. Like I expressed to the manager, busy I understand. Policy I understand. If it was stated upfront, on the app or on the phone that this location didn’t provide curbside pickup I wouldn’t have expected the service, but they led me to believe that this service was offered. Also I’m disappointed that the three young hosts were not held accountable for their poor follow through. At that age they should be eager to extend customer service not just stand there and yap. I don’t think the manger should’ve extended herself to fix another team member’s error. This was an opportunity to teach... respectfully and politely ask the young man that I spoke with to follow through on expectations and extend proper customer service. End result the spaghetti bolognese was dry and flavorless. The pizzas were just ok. My suggestion go to the one in Redondo Beach at the Galleria. The food tastes better, they have ample curbside pickup spaces and the staff follows through once you alert them that...
Read moreI sent this to the restaurant, and I'm posting it here as well: We ordered takeout from the Manhattan Beach CPK again tonight, for the last time. Since the start of the pandemic we have regularly ordered takeout from you. I really don't think I am exaggerating to say that you have never once gotten our order right. Sometimes items we've ordered and paid for get left out of the bags. Sometimes we get food we didn't order, like tonight, when my husband got Cedar Plank Salmon instead of the Salmon with Pan-Roasted Vegetables that he ordered. Often we modify the order, only to find out our requests were ignored. I say "no scallions," and get scallions. Or I ask for one topping to be left off, and you leave off every topping.
And always, ALWAYS, whether we order by phone or online, we say no napkins or utensils, and we get napkins and utensils. Tonight was typical. We phoned in the order and spoke with Lori, who asked if we wanted napkins and utensils. We said no. When we got to the restaurant and I called in for curbside pickup, I said to the person who answered, "We always say no napkins or utensils, and we always get them anyway. So please open our bags and take them out." She said she would alert the people packing the order (which shouldn't have been necessary, since we had said this to Lori). We should have made the man who brought the food to our car go through the bags and pull out the napkins and utensils, but we foolishly had hope that you would have gotten it right for once. No such luck. Not only are you wasting your money and sticking us with items that we have no use for and cannot return to you, but you are violating California Public Resources Code Chapter 5.2. This law took effect 1 January 2022, and prohibits "retail food establishments" from providing "single-use accessories" (including "forks, knives, spoons, and sporks") to consumers unless they are requested. You don't seem to care what your customers request. Do you care what the State of California requires?
We'll never know, because we are not coming back. Your food is good, and you're located close to our home, but there are plenty of good restaurants in and near Manhattan Village Mall, where we won't have to put up with...
Read moreThe food tasted really good but the service was HORRENDOUS! I will not be going back to this location again. First off we got seated at a table that was way too crowded around us and we requested to move outside and luckily they let us. We sat outside and waited for our waitress. She came and asked us what we wanted and a few things were sold out but we didn't mind. Later on when handing us our food she almost tossed the food to us and said do we need anything. We politely said cheese and sauce please and she left. Again anytime she came she tossed our food at us which is rude since we were being respectful. We needed a refill on our drink and she seen that we did but didn't give us one until We asked her after waiting so long. She came back and was giving us our receipt until we asked for a dessert and she rudely put the receipt in her apron and said ok. Few minutes later, she seen we had a plate that needed a box and didn't give us one until we asked at the very end when she handed us the bill and dessert. She then comes back 10 minutes later asking if we were done paying (mind you we were still eating our dessert) and we politely said no not yet we are still enjoying our dessert and haven't had the chance to look at the receipt. She proceeded to say "oh well to save me a trip" and laughed and stood there. Me and my husband felt so awkward, embarrassed and rushed while she STOOD THERE NEXT TO US UNTIL WE PAID. we gave her the money and didn't even check to see if the receipt was right. she left and never gave us our receipt back or anything. She simply took the money and left. Our date was ruined because of this girl. I am pregnant and didn't want to make food at home because i was exhausted and came here to relax and get a restaurant experience. sadly we didn't get any good hospitality here and was rushed to leave. I hope the waitress will red hair gets in trouble instead of just getting a slap on the wrist by management. I left...
