Big Dog Craft Brewing — Restaurant in Manheim Township

This place on outward appearance should be a hit. Custom brewed beers, large space, clean, etc. But on closer inspection the whole experience is pretty underwhelming.

First the beers were bland. I had tried 4 different kinds, two ipas, and two darker beers. The ipas were not well done. The coffee beer was plain bad, it had an overwhelming coffee flavor which drowned out everything else. The gaslight was ok comparatively, but it wasn't anything I would come back for.

The female servers were all pleasant to deal with, and working diligently throughout the night. The one male I interacted was standing around doing nothing, seemed annoyed when I asked him for something minor, and answered very bruskly and turned away.

The place was too brightly lit, even though it was the evening, and the decor was uninspired. If you can call hanging don't tread on me and thin blue line flags as decor.

Food was below mid… not even edible. We took one bite out of the burger and it was falling apart from being soggy, not to mention there was no flavor whatsoever. I got a cheesesteak which was a little better but mostly just a large hoagie roll with little meat, Wawa would’ve been a better dinner. For the prices of the food it’s definitely not worth it. The guy who I can only assume was the manager or owner seemed really annoyed an inconvenienced that we didn’t like the burger and didn’t seem to want to take it off the bill until he saw there was only one bite taken out of it, then passive aggressively came over and told us our bill was $16 dollars cheaper because we didn’t like the burger. I went to the big dog brewing company. I have to say my service was excellent. Ali was Very knowledgeable and very helpful. I had a pile of tater tots covered in cheese and brisket. My lovely date had a salad. She said it had too much dressing. The beer here was fantastic, I was expecting much less and v surprised at the beer quality. Will return to have more beer. I want to try some other menu items. I don't know what the deal is with this place and onions but they put onions on 98.7% of all dishes. Onions are bad.
