My husband and I have been getting Instagram ads that this new restaurant just opened and made an impulsive decision to try it out. I like to think I’m a good judge of Japanese food being from a place with lots of Japanese immigrants and frequenting Japan!
We went at 6:30 and it there weren’t too many people which was perfect. We were sat and all of the servers were attentive to answering our questions. We were sat near the bar/ in front of the kitchen. Let me say that the ambience is beautiful and the theming is so immersive. There’s normal tables as well as boots, little covered seating areas, high tables, bar seating, as well as semi- private booths for larger parties. We got the chili dumplings, yin yang ramen bowl, and curry ramen. Everything came out very quickly and the broths were distinct and flavorful. Our chili dumplings had a nice kick and were flavorful! My yin yang bowl was a bit spicy, but exactly what I would have wanted.
The servers would check in often (as much as I’d want!) and ensured everything was cleaned up as we finished. I’d highly recommend what we got, but I am excited to try the other ramen broths as well as the diverse appetizers and yakitori they have. I would even consider coming here just for apps and boba! We left with writing a little ema (the little wooden plaque shown here) and thought it was a cute way to commemorate the second day. Before heading out, we grabbed boba to go from the Tbarr which was a nice addition to those who want to grab and go, or have their drinks with dinner—and everything is customizable.
Please check this place out and I hope they have many more...
Read moreThis restaurant is a great new addition to the Lancaster County food scene. The vibes are really great, high ceilings and very fresh decor.
It’s a new ramen spot so naturally you have to check out the main dish, Ramen.
Today I ordered the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. You have an option of White Garlic or Black Garlic. I went with the former.
The chashū which is a small piece of flayed meat was tender and tasty. Off to the side is the menma (bamboo shoots) which are a staple in ramen noodles. The onsen tamago (soft boiled egg) was the right consistency.
Overall, I liked the presentation and the taste was pretty good. For Lancaster County it would be hard to find something quite on this level and I would really like to take my friends here to try more dishes.
The soup base of the ramen was a little watery or too thin for my liking. In Japan, usually you choose the intensity of the soup base so if you prefer more on the lighter side, which probably has less salt then this might be a good option for you but it’s not a very strong taste. The onsen egg was cooked properly to get the gooey inside however the egg white itself seemed like it had not been marinated long or at all in the typical juices and had not really absorbed the flavor.
That aside though I think this place is definitely worth the try and I’m hoping to go back when I have more time to try some other menu items and maybe even some boba! 🧋 👏🏻

Read moreBeen waiting to come here a while, short wait (15 mins). We were really bummed about the service- we felt rushed and unwelcomed, but at the same time the food was taking a while and everyone got their entrees 15-20 mins apart. Kind of like a hurry up and wait situation.
The server would ask how we were doing occasionally but as we'd ask for something (like water, which we got towards the end finally!) he'd just say "great" and keep walking and not come back until the next part of our order was ready and we'd have to remind them.
I got a combo because it came with a really cool dessert but they never told me they were out of it, so they gave me something I wouldn't of ordered in a million years and walked away. It's not the end of the world that they didn't have it, but it would have been nice to be comped for the amount or at least given the option of something else.
One server kept walking into our table every time they passed and we had to start holding on to our stuff so things wouldn't spill lol
The food was good, the tea was GREAT, but I wouldn't come back/recommend going because of the rushed environment.
Also FYI there's really no menu options for little kids/toddlers, and no diaper changing station at least in the...
