First time trying a Shake Shack. Overall I'm impressed, but probably won't come back very often; I would call Shake Shack a "pro-sumer" burger joint, with high quality food and even higher prices. 4 items ran $30 after tax and tip. The atmosphere/vibe is, "I'm a strong, young entrepreneur who don't need no borgar. But I afford borgar." The burger was excellent. Thin, loose, and crispy patties, almost a smash burger but not quite. Well seasoned, and toasted bun. My only complaint is that serving it in a wax sleeve caused the bun to steam unevenly; the side facing out was dry and toasty--which is fine--and the side facing in was moist and toasty--which is also fine, but I'd rather it be one or the other, not both. The hotdog was excellent. Toasted buns, split and grilled meat...what? That was great. The hotdog had some actual texture that you can chew on for a minute, and isn't just super soft and juicy like e.g. Nathan's. I will come back to Shake Shack for the hotdogs. Better than most hotdog joints. The French fries are crinkle-cut, but in an unusual way that seems to give them even more surface area than normal crinkle-cut fries. The result is an interesting texture where there is variation in the crunchiness and softness not only in the cross section of the fries, but also along its length. It alternates crispy and soft. The parmesan seemed to serve as the main/only source of salt on the fries, which was fine. It was very nice; I enjoyed it. The cookies & cream shake was nice. I don't have a lot to say about it. Tasted like what I expected it to taste like. I'm disappointed that ordering via the app to pickup via drive-thru or curbside is not supported. You have to go inside if you order via the app. That's going to make me look elsewhere for food 90+% of the time. The app appears to show you a live status of how your order is progressing, e.g. received, making, done, but it never updated. In the app, I checked the box for napkins, silverware, etc, but none were included. I had to go back into to the store to get it.

I tried ordering using their app, and the app warned me that this location is commonly mistaken for another location. I made sure of the street address and placed my order for myself and my son with confidence that it was correct. But the confirmation screen is for one in central Philadelphia. I was thinking 'how could this happen after I made sure I was ordering for the correct location and the app warned me there are common issues!' I wanted Shake Shack and I would not cave to this setback. My son asked me, 'What are you going to do?' I relied, "We'll order Inside". Although I was truly troubled about losing $50 in a order at some other location. We went inside and ordering using their touch screens was easy enough that I regretted even using the app. Anyhow we are and enjoyed our meals. The burgers are hot and juicy, the buns soft, and the cheese fries were perfect. I had the Korean burger and it was flavorful and satisfying. After eating I contacted Shake Shack about the order that was at the wrong location via their app, and the were quick to refund my money the next day. I think there is a problem in the app that I hope they fix, which only affects this location. I was satisfied with their prompt customer service though, which deserves 5 stars. They made a foodie happy. This concludes my long review. Thank you for reading!

The Shake Shack location in Lancaster did not give a good first impression for its grand opening - especially if ordering food from the drive-thru. For starters, there is a discrepancy in the price advertised on the menu with the price you are charged for your order. I ordered two Smoke Shack Doubles, 10 Piece Chicken Bites, and 2 orders of regular fries with no up charge add-ons on any of these items. The total before tax should have been $38.25 and $40.55 with 6% PA sales tax. However, my total came out to $41.69. You are not provided a receipt of the transaction at the drive-thru, so you cannot confirm what is the extra charge. The only thing I can think of is that a hidden gratuity that’s added to all orders. If so, I believe that should be at least communicated to the customer prior to making a purchase. Finally, what made things worse is that I never received my 10 piece chicken bites in my bag, which wasn’t realized until after I got home. I realize this was a grand-opening for this location, but added measures should be in place to verify that each order contains all the necessary items ordered before handing it off to the customer. Overall, not sure I’d comeback until the order process improves and there’s transparency about the total cost of an order.

I went to Shake Shack for lunch with my coworkers last Friday. The group was about 10 people and we paid on one check. It was my first time eating at Shake Shack. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and French fries. The bacon cheeseburger was good! The fries were the frozen crinkle fries you get at the grocery store. They were underwhelming, just regular run of the mill, not very good French fries. Some of my coworkers ordered Shack Stacks, a Veggie Shack and the Smokehouse Stack with fried pickles on it. Everyone enjoyed their burgers.

When our tray was brought to us, our order was not correct despite the cashier reading the order back to us at the register. I would say 60% of us got the burgers we actually ordered. (I assumed it was because we weren't sure what burger was what on the tray or that not everyone was listening to the order being read back to us.) We all received the correct beverages but they didn't bring any of our french fries.... Everyone ordered fries so it was literally a tray of 10 sets of french fries that was forgotten! I asked the front counter if our fries were coming because most of us had finished our burgers at this point. The cashier said, "Yes. They are coming. Just a few minutes." Another employee later brought the fries and said "Sorry, they forgot your fries." We didn't complain or make any fuss about the inconveniences as we know mistakes happen because we are all human. Most places would have sent a manager out with the forgotten french fries to offer an apology but not here.

The dining area of the restaurant was clean. The atmosphere was fun, casual and modern. Inside and outside seating (with table umbrellas available) available. Table hockey game in the corner of the dining room to play. Lots of young families were dining here. Free...

We paid in cash our total was 47.15 (something like that) we gave 48 did not get a receipt back or the change. we ordered a 10pc nugget and did not receive it. The chicken sandwich was cold and not with the description on the menu I think a cucumber was on the sandwich and if it was a pickle there is a huge problem! The other burger was ICE cold like if it was assembled HOURS ahead of time and just was thrown under the light for the paper to feel warm. The bun was so soggy and wet it was actually sicken to take a bite out of it with the texture. The “cheese and bacon fries” had probably less than half an ounce on it which surprise……was ice cold as well and so thick from being cold and had at max of 4 bacon bits on top and not season at all . all in all its probably the worst thing we’ve eaten in years. Considering we spent almost 50 we had no option but to eat it. And everything was so small portioned.

Who ever was working the shift on October 29th at 9:03 needs to be completely retrained or fired before someone get food poising we felt sick all night. (Our check number was 30174 if anyone would check, that was on the bag in guessing from the printer since again we never got the actually receipt)

My sister also ordered on door dash the same night to her house and it was completely trash for her as well and she also felt sick!

It sucks a new establishment that’s been opened not that long is sending food out like that and at the price it’s actually insane. We could have gone to McDonalds spend less and at least the food would have been hot.

The only thing that was good was the lemonades which were still small for the getting a large. 10/10 would never recommend to anyone! I wish we should have taken pictures of the nonsense...
