Only one other time I wrote a negative review. Jen’s Java has fresh bakery & a nice atmosphere. Unless you encounter the owner. 15 yr ago my son took violin lessons with the Catholic nuns at the conservatory of music. During the lesson I frequented Jen’s purchasing a beverage & read. One Tue I went in & discovered I had forgotten to bring my wallet. No money. I used the restroom & left. The next Tue the owner confronted me. Jen told me that they did not have a public bathroom. It was for guests purchasing something only. I should leave they would not be serving me. I will admit I was upset & was rude back. That was 15 years ago. This morning I went in to try her establishment again. She got up from her (desk ) told me I had been told never to come in to her business again. Apparently, I’ve been bared for life. Jen needs to learn compassion and kindness to people. My family owns a large business. It is on Highway 42 going to Door County. We have many people that stopped to go to the bathroom on their way to the door. In 42 years that we’ve owned the business we’ve never turned down anybody to use our restroom purchase or NOT. Being 120 miles out in Chicago and halfway to the tip of door county we have many people that use our restroom and & do not eat in the restaurant. I know that you comment on all your reviews Jen and I’m not interested in debating. Good luck with your business. For everybody out there, I would consider whether it is worth it to frequent business that the owner has such...
Read moreJenn's is my favourite coffee shop! I love the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the staff. Everything is delicious - and affordable.
They've got games available for every age, & it's well suited to both single visitors and for groups.
The style is very open concept, but there is a room available in back, which can even be hired for a few hours for more privacy. Jenn's offers a variety of furniture, from small & grand table sets to large, comfortable couches. It's over the street from Washington Park, so the views are great all year.
The majority of their food is made fresh, which is really nice. The only comestibles that aren't made-to-order are in their cold case & bakery items (which could still fit in this category, actually, as the rotation changes constantly & Jennifer & staff cook & bake from scratch; plus, you can actually place specific orders so the items are customised for you).
Everything I've eaten or imbibed at this place is delicious. I've yet to have something I dislike, & this is true for my fam &...
Read moreJenn's is my home away from home and "office," especially since semi-retiring four months ago. It has become my weekday (and often weekend) morning ritual. Morning coffee whilst working for a couple hours. Why? Plenty of seating. Free high speed wifi. Fantastic, friendly vibe with attentive baristas (including the married owners), great menu with everything coffee-related you would expect, but also with a plethora of Jenn's famous bakery items. The soft background music is typically classic rock during the weekday mornings, newer pop other times. I particularly like the location of Jenn's in that it sits across the street from Manitowoc's Washington Park. The huge front windows provide an awesome view of the park. If you want quiet, there's a rear party-room with several takes and media capabilities. Room can be reserved for meetings or parties. Jenn's is a community gathering place. I always see people I know and often run into work acquaintances whom I haven't seen in years. Jenn's is a local...
