My husband and I decided to celebrate our first wedding anniversary at Catrine's. The food was really good, good portions, excellent presentation, service and atmosphere. We had Mexican corn ($6.25) to start our night, chips and salsa, obviously! Delicious by the way. They have a big menu, my husband couldn't decide what to get. He wanted meat but also sea food so he ended up getting a Molcajete. It come with beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, cactus, onions, a jalapeno, cheese etc. with a side of ride, beans and 4 tortillas ($26.99) He said it was spicy (if you eat the spicy jalapeno)and delicious. I am a vegetarian, I asked the waiter what their vegetarian options were and he suggested a few things from the menu, cheese enchiladas with beans and rice or vegetarian fajitas with beans and rice or salad. I choose 3 cheese enchiladas ($11.00) and a side of rice and beans ($5.99) I also ordered some water and Jamaica water ($4.50), the Jamaica water was somewhat sweet for my liking but it's just me. My husband got a glass of water and a soda ($3.29). Since it was our anniversary we wanted to get some alcoholic drinks, we decided to get Margarita Flight ($16.00). It was the funnest thing to watch. We also got a 3 leches cake ($7.99), it was delicious. Our bill was around $86.00. We were really happy, and really really full! We didn't finish our food so we asked for a few boxes to go. I recommend this restaurant, food looks fresh, is fresh, great service, also is a great place to spend time with your love one and you feel like is El Día de los...
Read moreWe visited for dinner on Valentine's Day and we were pleasantly surprised to find open tables. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was live music and fun decorations for the holiday. This was our first visit since the restaurant changed names. The menu is delightfully different from the standard Mexican restaurants, yet all your favorites are still there. The chips are thin and crispy and the salsa is fresh. The salsa dishes are adorable and it's so nice to have one per person rather than dripping across the table when we share. We shared a margarita flight and it was both beautiful and flavorful. There were several dishes we wanted to try and it was hard to decide. My wife ordered the carnitas tips and she said the meat was on the dry side and lacked flavor. The sides were very good. I ordered a lettuce wrap pork taco and it was much larger than I expected. I also ordered a side of beans and rice and both were top notch. The pork on my taco tasted good, but parts of it were a little too gristly/fatty, (but I'm picky about meat). We were both full but we wanted to try a dessert so we ordered them to go. We will definitely be back to try more of the many great...
Read moreMy chicken fajita chimichanga tasted great. My friend didn't like her enchiladas or beans (I don't eat refried beans...) The plates were hot and kept the food from getting ice cold quickly. My friend ordered a raspberry margarita and she had never had one before. It was way too strong. The waitress said she had no way to fix it. I suggested bringing some juice, She brought margaritas mix which made it way too sour and salty for my friend. So she asked for a lemonade, but even after adding 2 packets of sugar it was too sour for her. The waitress was avoiding us at this point. We didn't ask for the margaritas or the lemonade to be comped but we needed our bill to pay and leave. Eventually a male waiter helped us out, but I didn't ask him to split the bill since he just presented us with the total for the table and a card swiper. A few minutes previously, I had seen this waiter stick his hands down the front of his pants to scratch himself. Ugh. So all in all, I won't be going back despite my tasty food. I still tipped over 20% because I wanted them to understand that just because my friend didn't like the drinks didn't mean we were looking for a reason to short...
