My family and I were very disappointed after trying Crisp & Green, largely due to the premium pricing and small portion sizes received for that investment. At $13 - $15 for a salad, we expected to receive more than 4 ounces of food per dish.
What you can expect upon entering the restaurant is a clean and somewhat sterile environment - white walls, counters, etc, although the dining area itself doesn't detract from the experience. When approaching the counter on the far left to place your order, you'll notice first that there aren't many options under $13, with others being $15 and above. After reviewing all of the options, my initial instinct was to not place an order myself, being used to 'all you can eat' salad bars for considerably less money per person. Ultimately, my family and I all placed orders for salads. Let's just say: the final bill was exorbitant compared to the amount of food received.
Please see attached photo of the salad I ordered for $15, shown in a bowl of about 8" diameter for reference. As is clear from the photo, the overall volume of food is lacking to say the least, especially for protein which was supposedly the selling point for the dish.
Ultimately, with value (cost vs amount received) being so low for these meal options, my recommendation, echoed by my family and other customers I've spoken with, is to consider other options for lunch or dinner for which Mankato has many, and consider how far $15 can go toward your meal. It's easy to see that almost any other restaurant in town provides considerably larger portions for your investment. If I could go back to the point of placing my order and decide not to spend my $15, I would, but in that case I wouldn't be able to tell the story of my first and only visit, and save you the frustration I experienced with the very small portions and undeniable lack...
Read moreIt’s.. okay. We got the cinco de light, and a Cesar salad with no meat.
I was expecting a flavorful kick in the cinco de light, as it has fresh jalapeño, and the dressing is lime & jalapeño based. I got no flavor at all. Tasted like a wet salad but couldn’t put a name to the bland taste. I had the person with me try it, who doesn’t like lime or jalapeños, and they even said it doesn’t taste like anything.
The Cesar salad was over killed with kale. A small or even amounts would’ve been better. But it also seemed bland.
The girl who helped us with our salads, and the girl at the register seemed clueless and not fully trained, couldn’t hear her or the cashier. A male worker and I both told the cashier it was not a chicken Cesar, to which I was still charged for one and she would not give me a receipt.
I think I would try it again when they’ve been opened for awhile, but for the price I paid for 2 salads and a smoothie, and the lack of taste everything had, I want to have a better experience with more trained staff.
Also, the patio seating is adorable, however it is not made for people wearing shorts as it’s wire seating so it’s very uncomfortable and leaves...
Read moreWent in for a build your own bowl with chicken like always & drove across the street to eat and noticed my chicken was very slimy and looked underwhelming. I came back and explained what happened to an associate and she asked if i wanted something else or a refund. I said I didn’t want anything else and she went to get another associate who approached me asking what was wrong and i told her the chicken was not good. And she asked what wasn’t good about it and i told her it was slimy then she proceeded to ask me what do i mean it was slimy with an attitude. I had already explained this to another associate and to get this type of response was sad. She then said well I’m not giving a refund I said okay and left. Sad customer service & plenty of job openings out here if you’re not happy with where you work. 0/10 do...
