Really happy with my experience at Gionino's Pizza. I called in an order for a large pepperoni pizza and a large "Gio bread," as they called it. It came to a whopping $36. Seemed steep at first, but more on that later.
As for the service aspect. The phone was answered promptly when I called. The gentleman who took my call was patient and polite. He gave me my price and a time frame without me having to ask, which is less common when ordering pickup than you might think.
Picked up my order and am happy to report it was still hot when I got home. Like hot enough that I had to trade my slice from one hand to the other because it was too hot to hold for an extended period. So the food was freshly made.
And it was pretty yummy. The sauce they use is really good. It's sweet, but not as sweet as Romeo's. I do prefer Romeo's sauce, but I much prefer the crust at Gionino's. The crust is so light and fluffy. It's perfect.
The cheese was all melted and gooey. It stretches like a cartoon pizza does when you eat it. Love the cheese and the amount they put on their pizza. And the pepperoni had really good flavor.
The Gio bread stole the show though. This is the best cheesy garlic bread I've had since moving to Mansfield. And a large is a legit pizza size large. It's 16" of goodness. So when you factor in I'll get about 6-8 meals out of this over the next few days, the value here is really good.
So far this has been one of my two favorite pizzas in Mansfield, this and Romeo's. I prefer Romeo's sauce, but I prefer Gionino's cheesy bread. I would say it's a higher quality pizza than Deschner's, but you don't get quite as much for your money. So quality over quantity here. And overall I would say it's a better value than Two Cousins or Pronto Pizza.
I will definitely be back for more pizza and Gio bread. Just a great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRidiculously expensive (for mediocre pizza; subs and chicken're okay), horridly s-l-o-w delivery service (every other delivery get a call from driver for directions who doesn't have GPS). When they screw up your order, they "always" blame it for being "too busy" or "someone called off" and yet never seem to hire enough workers to pick up the slack. So when they screw up your order, it takes just as long for them to get out the replacement as it did the first time around! You're told, "We'll get it to you whenever we can!" even though the screw up (for the umpteenth time) was THEIR fault because who ever filled the order wasn't paying attention. When you try to protest, the woman manager hangs up on you!! They're also closed on holidays. They seem to not care one whit about customer service let alone keeping customers long term. I've definitely had my fill of this place and their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe pizza was good but customer service was horrible. I ordered my pizza and specifically said to cut the pizza in squares. When I got it wasn't so I called and was told that even though I said to cut it into squares and it was written on my ticket like that they wouldn't replace it. I was told that they can not replace my pizza cause it was cut wrong even though I asked for it and it was put into my ticket. I even said to take the old pizza back and to bring me a new one, only because I had a house full and the squares feed more people. Still was told no.
I am a manager at a restaurant and I would never tell my customers no. This is bad customer service and I will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. Either will the people at my house. Are you serious right now. Very bad...
