Tea Jar — Restaurant in Mansfield

I really wanted to like this place since it’s so close to where I live. My sisters and I came here last night (11/30/2024) and the girl who took my order was very nice. We ordered a drink and two waffles. My drink came out and it was ok - I honestly only drank like a quarter of it, tastes like drinks are made from powder here. About 15 minutes pass from ordering and one of the girls let me know that they are having difficulties with their waffle machine but that they’re working on it and it would take a little longer. I said that’s fine, i understand things happen. Another 15 min pass and I noticed the girl was still struggling with the machine so I asked her if she got it to work cause if not I would just get a refund but she said yes and that it would just take her a few more minutes. My little sisters were getting impatient since over 30 min had passed. I then look at my receipt and it had been almost an hour since we ordered! I went up again to nicely just cancel the order since it was taking way too long. I stood there in the front and the Caucasian employee with purple hair just ignored my existence and just walked past and started washing dishes and she clearly could see me standing there. Finally as I was being ignored the other girl runs up with the waffle after almost an hour. They were very nice and apologetic and I do understand that things happen but I feel like customer service was lacked. We were not offered anything to compensate for inconvenience and I felt they should have told us after 15 min if they really couldn’t get it to work and to be honest, I would not have been upset and would’ve just canceled it. I’m more upset they were not honest that they truly couldn’t get it working in a timely manner.

Another group was in there the same time as us and the customer said they got their order wrong and the same Caucasian employee refused to remake their drink and debated that the customer was in fact the one who ordered it wrong. They only offered her a 10% discount to remake the drink, with my own experience and overhearing how they handled the other customers experience left a really bad taste in my mouth also. Customer service is everything and when things go wrong I think it’s important to make it right so customers are willing to return even if a mistake is made. Slightly disappointed in their service. The first time I went, everything was fine. The second time I went. They got my order wrong. I asked for honeydew apple, but they made green apple tea. I didn’t noticed that they put in the order wrong because I didn’t ask for the receipt. When they handed me the drink, I noticed that it said green apple tea. I didn’t drink it and gave them back the drink. I told them that I asked for the honeydew apple, but they said that they got the order correct. They then told me that they can give me a discount to make the honeydew apple tea. I think it was really unfair because I didn’t even drink the apple tea and noticed the label on it immediately. I even return the drink to them. In the end, I just accept the green apple tea they made. There are so many boba places in the area that has better service, so I’m just disappointed in how they handle the situation today.

Edit review: I change my stars from a 3 to a 4. After giving them a second chance, I could tell that the manager cares about the situation and was really responsive.
