OK. The food was excellent, Staff is overly friendly, but I'm sure if I'll go back, for sure..
ODD? yes, let me explain.
First off the bread is excellent. Soft, delicate, very fresh, yet quite usable, perfect for a sub. Next they cut the meat right in front of you(nice touch), the toppings all look very fresh (unlike many sub joints, especially Subway), plenty of toppings, put together very neatly (looking at you again Subway), they "seem" to flood the sub with their sauces and such - but it actually was just right for me. Price is a little high, but probably quite reasonable for the quality, size and such. Taste is a "little" blander than I expected, but most people will be VERY happy with it.
So what's my hangup, you ask? Bare, naked counters. No wax paper, no cutting board, no strainer design so things fall through - everything done on the bare naked countertops.
Put the bun down - right on the countertop, Cut you meat and set it down - right on the countertop Put the toppings on the sub - while every thing is right on the countertop. Splatter the sauces and vinegar - all over the sub and countertop.
And it's not a stainless steel countertop/work surface.
Now first off, many of you are saying "who cares" which is fine for you. AND you probably do the same thing. LOL!
This is REALLY bad form. A countertop is a flat surface and EVERYTHING falls on it....EVERYTHING. A countertop get old, gets scratches and grooves, etc, etc. Cannot REALLY be ever cleaned well, especially in a fast food joint. They do keep it VERY clean looking. But have you ever really looked at a rag you've been using to wipe things down for, even a short while? Try to find one without a hair in it. And of course, there'll be THAT guy working there, the one who DOESN'T clean everything all the time, or replace the rag with a fresh one.
Working on wax (or some other) paper is fresh and clean every time. A cutting board can be removed and more properly cleaned, plus it is a little higher than the rest of the countertop which limits the amount of old food, hair, etc.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it kinda...
Read moreThis is my first time going to a Jersey Mike's. I happen to end up in the one in Maple Grove Minnesota. the noise in there was so loud I couldn't hear anybody talking to me from behind the counter. So I actually didn't know what I ordered . It just got louder in there with them trying to yell at me about what I wanted. in here the music was up over the top you couldn't even have a conversation with the person across the table from you nobody seemed to care. nobody wanted to help, if you asked a question they gave you a dumb look like what do you mean. I did tell them that I will never be back to this Jersey Mike's ever again my sister ordered a wrap and they gave her a bun. yes it did have turkey on it that's all I can say that was right with it. This isn't a sports bar where you would expect to have a lot of noise people yelling at the TV set and things on that line. This is a fast food walk-in service you need to give people service I did tell them that I would never be back to this one I don't care how good people might think this food is it is not worth the hassle that I went through to go here. I didn't have to wait for a table. My sister and I...
Read moreI used to be a regular customer here along with my kids. Then one day when I asked for no peppers on my sandwich.. (typically this is a sandwich I order for my two year old) I overheard some conversation about my sandwich not having peppers and then some laughter. Honestly I thought nothing of it. I probably just heard things wrong. Well apparently putting a jalapeño on my sandwich would be funny to someone there. Not only do I not enjoy peppers but putting the hottest one they have there in my sandwich actually made me sick. When I called to ask what had happened it was brushed off like no big deal.. The manager claimed to not be able to hear me so I said I’d be in the next day as I was at work throwing up. When I went back in the lady seemed to already know that it was “just one Jalapeño” not a big deal. So how did everyone know it was just one? Why is it ok to make someone with a sensitive stomach sick? Had this been my two year olds sandwich then how is that funny? I won’t be spending any more money at a place who thinks it’s ok to practical joke their customers and...
