Sota — Local services in Maple Grove

Interesting concept, but I can't in good faith support this establishment nor recommend. Styrofoam cups are the worst cups on the environment; unlike a lot other disposable cups that breakdown slower and have the ability to be recyclable, Styrofoam cups (and Styrofoam in general) tend to break up very fast and are very lightweight so they can spread throughout fast. Styrofoam cups are huge contributors to marine environment pollution as well as to the natural environment. Styrofoam also leaves a larger carbon impact considering it's extraction and processing is more strenuous. There are also many studies out there that point to consuming food or drinks from Styrofoam containers is actually worse for your health than other plastic containers—this reason and it's environmental impact is why some states and many countries around the world have banned them.

It's too bad too considering this is a Minnesota local company within the Twin Cities. Minnesotans are suppose to and known to care about the earth and try their best to not hurt it. Amazing!! $3 for a 24 oz specialty drink???? What! Where will you find prices like this! I tried the Cali Love drink and it was so delicious. Look at the size you're purchasing before you buy it! 24 oz is the smallest that they offer, but thats a large for a Caribou or coffee shop! Tonnnnn of bev for you to sip on. The pretzels were also super good! It seems like the staff here is on the younger side, and they do it best! I ordered and they had my stuff ready before I was even done paying! They were so incredibly kind and did such a good job too. The lobby & store is quite small and there isnt anywhere to sit, but its a really nice place to pick up a nice cheap drink and go shopping. I lived in Utah (where “dirty” sodas are very popular) for a few years and Sota hits the spot for when I miss those places. I tried it for the first time today and got “The Rain” with Mountain Dew and it was delicious. And it was fairly priced. There was a bit of a line for a Wednesday afternoon, but I didn’t mind waiting. The staff was really friendly and efficient at moving the line through. I’m not anywhere near this location (I hope they open one up more towards the south metro) but I will maybe be back...
