This has been a “go to” teriyaki restaurant for us for many years. I love their General Tso’s chicken! One of the best around. Sadly, today’s service experience will sour that for some time.
I tried to make a phone order and as soon as the person answered the static would start to increase quickly until I couldn’t understand. I tried calling three times, the last time by walking outside to see if it might be better. When I still couldn’t hear I said I’m close I’ll just walk over hoping he had heard me enough to take my order. I believe I was never rude.
I walked over and was immediately treated with a cold shoulder. I mentioned the bad phone connection and another guy there said he was on the phone trying to fix it. I certainly wouldn’t hold that against them; not their fault. What they are responsible for is good service. When I asked the guy (who continued to stand with his back to me) what I had done to upset him so much, he at first didn’t answer, and then, as he threw my food on the counter, I asked again. His response was, “I didn’t say a thing; you got your food” as rudely as one could say it.
We all have bad days, but this individual needs to understand that he represents the restaurant. ...
Read moreThe chicken teriyaki is always kinda dry especially the second day of leftovers, but it's cheap and a good protein/carb load. Request extra teriyaki sauce as the little cup isn't quite enuf. Good salad comes with it. They always seem to have a cluster of people at the counter waiting for their take-out, ajd there always seems to be a little confusion as to what belongs to whom, but to be fair they've never gotten my order wrong. One time I waited outside for my food and then got nervous that it might be done, so I went back inside and it seemed the guy at the counter was handing me my food, but when I tried to take it he said it was for someone else, and then added "Your order isn't ready yet; you literally just ordered" and kinda laughed at me like I was stupid for not being psychic. After that I was kinda too embarrassed to come back for awhile. When I did come back they took my order and I said "Do you need my name, for when it's ready?" And the guy at the counter said "No, we'll remember." We prefer a different teriyaki place nearby for its better food and friendlier service (and clearer pick-up system where they actually take our names), but we go to this place cuz it's conveniently located on...
Read moreDrove all the way down here and it's closed, even though online it says it's open and the hours on the door say it should be open as well. There's no note explaining why, I would be more forgiving if they made an effort to explain.
Update: 2 month's later I come back and they are actually open and I decided to give them another chance. I'm glad I did, but not enough to give them five stars. They seem to prioritize to go orders because people who ordered after me for takeout got their stuff first. That said however the server was very kind and sweet and patient. When I did eventually get my food ( it actually wasn't too long a wait. Like 10 maybe 15 minutes) It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. I though no place could top four corner teriyaki in maple valley but this place actually might as far as taste and service. I'd definitly give this place a try, but be aware that there is a small chance they won't be open during their posted...
