Spears Cafe — Restaurant in Marianna

This place seems to have a lot of hype.. The server and cook were very friendly and kind, they made us feel like family. But the food I had that day was very, very lacking. To start I had ordered un-sweet tea and it was very soured, the issue was fixed quickly but should not have happened. I ordered wings and regular fries. Because they interested me I got chili cheese fries as well. When the chili fries arrived they were hot and had a nice flavor but soggy. (The problem with home fries is that, yes, they are fresh but they will almost always be soggy if they don't get an initial fry and sit in a freezer. They do not do this.) the chili was canned and the cheese was cold. When the wings arrived I was very surprised to find the chicken wings were either not fresh (Frozen) or either purposely breaded and lightly drizzled with hot sauce, they were far too salty and the fries again, soggy. I know this place is famous around here for the burger and guess I should have stuck with that for my first time here. I'm not sure how this place gets so much hype, it really really needs a remodel or...

My husband and I ordered burgers the first day and this is the day I landed in heaven on earth. The burgers are homemade and perfectly seasoned. I would only assume that their cows are transported from prestigious animal spas because it tasted real presidential. If there were organic cows, those would be it.

Second day, I couldn’t resist to go back. My husband ordered fried wings this time and I had the hamburger again and neither of our food disappointed us. I also ordered a baked potato and my husband had the home fries again and it was God’s work. Must try the lemonade as well!

To address recent reviews, if you see any one arguing , mind your business. You won’t find anything better than this in Jackson County and we all know that when the cook has slight high blood pressure, the food is even better. Trust me, my mama is proof. We stopped in Spears Cafe while visiting Merritt’s Mill Pond from Miami after reading the reviews. It’s a small hole in the wall so don’t expect anything fancy, but DO expect some good food and great service!!! The home fries were 🔥, fried ocra fresh, and the burgers… THE BEST BURGERS I’ve ever had; huge, plus budget friendly!! The service was exceptional, from the ladies that served us l, to the cook in the back. They checked up on us continuously to make sure we were good and made us feel welcomed!
