I have been to a lot of Applebee's, and when I say a lot, I mean more than 10 over the last 5/6 years. Being in traveling for work family, I've lived all over the east coast. When we decided to settle down I was happy we chose Marietta, smaller town, it was more calm than what I was used too. With Covid being as bad as it is, I hadn't been to a restaurant in almost 7 months. I was so sick and tired of fast food so I decided to go to this location. I was worried about the social distance and the safety, let me tell you, this place has it down. It's like they have been doing it all along. The service was great, they practiced social distancing, the waitresses all wore clean gloves that I saw them change between tables, all were wearing masks, all of them were standing six feet from the tables. The customers wore masks when they moved from their tables to leave, come in or go to the restroom. No one was seated around us within a six foot radius. I would like to think all restaurants have been doing this, but this place is clearly doing probably the best. It was great. I didn't go at a busy time, I went when they first opened at eleven and eventually some people trickled in, but I counted, only two people walked past our table. A waitress and another server, and both of them had been wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Now, the food. Oh my goodness. Everything was hot, fresh, flavorful, our waitress was so kind and so attentive, my drink never got empty, she always brought a new glass before I even had to ask. I'm honestly so impressed. I'll be back in the...
Read moreWe came in just after 11 when they opened. There were two. As soon as we sat down, we noticed it was pretty cold. The food was good, but it was so cold, that everybody that was there was staying it was too cold. My sister-in-law had her jacket collar, zipped up to under her nose. Our hands were so cold, when our server came back I asked if she could please do something about it. I touched her with my hand so she could see how cold it was and she just looked at me with will the dull eyed stare of a dairy cow and said she couldn’t tell. I usually don’t complain, I I’ve done food service on off for 30 years. But it was so cold that after 20 minutes, I asked somebody else to please check the thermostat. It’s 52° outside and it feels like it’s the same inside. Someone must have adjusted it, because it was bearable enough for us to finish and get the heck out of there. I mean I get it that maybe it was still set to be cooler due to the higher temperatures from the other day(s). BUT when it OBVIOUS most or ALL of your 10 guests are uncomfortable, you should address it, not act like it doesn’t MATTER. I mean, we still tipped you 20% like it mattered so why would you act like a simple comfort request doesn’t matter??? I would’ve gave higher stars, but I cannot justify it. It literally made the whole...
Read moreApplebees is usually one of my favorite places. However, this time I chose the wrong time to get a beverage. I sat at the bar and found myself uncomfortable due to the BRIGHT light overhead. I swear it felt like an interrogation. I asked the bartender if they could be turned down a bit she didn’t bother to check. She said she didn’t know. I was not greeted with polite service as the woman was too busy to offer me a menu. I reluctantly ordered a beer which turned out to be very cold and I liked that very much. It was much too loud with children crying and families enjoying their dinner. I was too close to the kitchen entrance so I was able to hear every word they said and felt like I was in the way. Servers would place their dirty glasses right in front of me for someone else to bus. That was not appetizing. Other wait staff were nice and had a good word or two as they worked the register next to me. I can’t say to visit at dinner time but go another time if you’d like it a bit more mellow and don’t sit by the kitchen. I will go again but be more careful of the time...
