There's a lot of people that seem to hate this Bob Evans location, and for no good reason. Most are just passing through and don't understand a few key things. This is the busiest Bob Evans there is out of all locations. There are times when it's not exactly booming, but other than that there is almost always a wait. People complain about "Managers talking to friends at the counter" but friends of the managers and employees even off duty can not sit at the counter. We have a lot of regulars and they love to talk to the staff including servers and management. The management also go around to tables and talk to the people because it is courteous and they want to make sure everyone is having a good time.
If there is ever a problem with your food the replace it on the spot, and apologize sometimes giving discounts as seen fit. The people really try here to deliver you great service and you can really see it, most of the servers are amazing although you never know when you can have an off experience. However that's something that can happen with any restaurant, nobody is perfect. A lot of the food complaints are because the foods are cooked to a code, and unless advised before-hand they are not allowed to special make your order, nor would they know to if you do not tell them. Food laws prohibit burgers to be cooked less than done, I'm not sure if this is an Ohio thing or if it applies to some weird code under some weird classification or something. I'm not very well versed in that kind of stuff I just listen to what the health department tells me and I abide.
Anyways going back to my point, I used to work at this Bob Evans. I don't anymore however, and all the people I used to work with are no longer at the establishment. This is something that time seems to do to with restaurants and food establishments. It is also under different management as the old General Manager is now the District Manager. So it's not like I enjoy this place because I'm going to see my friend or I'm biased for any of those reasons. This place is always a joy to go to and eat, the hiring manager does a great job of hiring servers that are social and a pleasure to talk to. The food is always out in a decent time, especially when they are busy with a 45 minute wait at the door and you get your food within 15 minutes of ordering. Obviously that's subject to change depending on what you ordered, and sometimes there are hiccups like something has run out or a tool has broken that causes you food to run a little later or for you to need to order something else (after all.. it's the busiest Bob Evans so it's understandable).
All in all this is a great place to eat, sit and talk with the people and you'll love it. They'd honestly love to talk with you too. I loved talking with guests when I worked there, it was the best part...
Read moreWe were passing through and stopped to have breakfast right as the restaurant opened. We were seated right away and there were two other tables already seated. Our waitress came over right away and got our drink orders. We ordered our food shortly after that, 2 adults and 3 kids. Several other tables were seated during this time and the group in front of us seemed to be very good friends with our waitress, Megan, I believe. This table of 5 had all the attention and we seemed like foreigners in this little town restaurant. My husband tracked down another lady to top off my coffee, after the table of 5 of course, and after 45 minutes of waiting- we still had no food. Everyone else who came in and was seated after us had their meals, including the friends and all their fresh coffee. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress, she went to check on our order, filled my coffee and then came back a short time later with our food. At this point, weâd been in the restaurant an hour. Our food finally came out, 3 meals and then a few minutes later 2 of the kids meals. My husband asked for the check at this point in time. We were all starving and ready to get back on the road for our long drive home- so we scarfed our food and all used the restroom before hitting the road. My husband paid and decided not to leave a tip for our waitress, which is not at all common practice for us, but this was probably among the worst service weâve ever had. I waited in the restroom hall while the rest of my family used the restrooms only to overhear the cashier and our waitress trash talking us for not leaving a tip and how dare we not tip her- âtheyâre SO busyâ etc etc etc I could not believe my ears. They were also trash talking us with their buddies that got served and taken care of at our expense. Hearing this my husband told the cashier and waitress he didnât tip because it was the worst service ever- all of them were literally yellling at him! Yelling, not talking, yelling. Ludicrous. We left to them saying âgood nightâ at 811am. Iâm not sure if this is business as usual in this small Ohio town, but this is NOT acceptable business etiquette. If I were this womanâs manager, sheâd be looking for another job! I would highly recommend the customer facing employees in the location get some much needed customer...
Read moreOur son bought my wife a new phone that was unlocked as a gift. Het sim card was too big so i had to purchase a sim card kit from walmart. I took my wifes phone in to the Verizon store because, after i got everything set up, the phone could not make phone calls.
I fiddled with it for 3 hours, finally went to the Verizon store, with a bad attitude. The guy who looked at the phone couldnt get it to connect either, so he called tech support. Turns out my wifes old plan was a 3g network and the phone purchased only worked on the 4g network. We had to upgrade the plan, then everything worked.
I like the fact my bad attitude did not distract the people there from doing everything they could to help. They worked the problem until it was fixed. Lots of parking, friendly staff, plenty of sample products to see, you can make.payments there, they have handicapped...
