It's ableist to pack every pick up order as though NO ONE using the pick up service cld possibly have a disablity. Please, PLEASE stop. Putting a gallon of ice cream, can of coffee, pack of cheese, frozen hasbrowns, bananas and loaf of bread in a PAPER bag is ridiculous. Guys, paper doesn't hold the way plastic does but even a plastic bag will give with all that weight. Im tired of having to pick my groceries up out of my driveway with only one arm I can use. Im also wondering when I can get a refund for the 8$ espresso concentrate that busted in my driveway Thursday bc the bottom of the bag had gave before I even made it home. Probably when they loaded it into my car, just didn't care. It's also feeling spiteful, like ur workers hate pickup orders so they intentionally act so dense they don't understand not to put 6lbs of groceries into a single paper bag while also making sure to put ur loaf of bread into the heaviest bag to be squashed EVERY SINGLE TIME. Enough is enough Krogers. This has been going on for over a year with pickup orders. It's overall ableist and seemingly spiteful. It's unacceptable and ignorant to not teach workers who have 0 common sense how to pack groceries. Or is it just me? Am I being singled out for pick ups? Im just trying to make sense of the nonsensical way u r packing pickup orders... It's beyond frustrating that u guys are passive aggressively packing pickup orders so the bags have all given out after they've been transferred to a vehicle and customers (disabled or not bc Kroger doesn't care) have to pick everything up one by one or have it all drop in the driveway so u can save paper bags. U guys shld all stop being ableist at work, at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll right, here is the reality, today's youth (this a general statement and does not apply to all) do not want to work. Kroger, worth 30 to 75 billion dollars (depending on whose evaluation you use) and a CEO that rakes in 1.3 million a year, isn't able to incentivice employees to come to work (maybe because there is a union). I'm going to apologize in advance, but I am left with throwing Kroger management under the bus. They can and should point their fingers at Kroger corporate if indeed they are doing their jobs. Here is the experience. It is a Friday evening around 5:30pm. You arrive at your local Kroger, which I would say is mediocre busy. There is 1 checkout line open (self checkout is pretty busy). The one checkout line has a cashier that is not of age to check out alcohol. Someone in Management explain this to me? So your options are spend 30+ mins in a check out line or go to Aldi (or anywhere else), buy your Alcohol or whatever and don't waste your time. I worked Management for over 20 years. If I was working at that store, my butt would have been there if that was my only option for cashier coverage on a Friday night. Real rant over. 7/21/2023 Update - Kudos to Kroger Corporate to make some much needed changes. Employees seem happier and that inspires them to do a better job. Overall big improvements!!! 9/16/2023 - Goes to show you just how much leadership affects employees. Since new leadership was put at this Kroger, all the employees seem happier and the customer service experience has greatly improved. Management is friendly and helpful!!! Hope they have a long...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have an older gentleman that I pick up groceries for, and this time he informed me that it was at Kroger's. In my opinion from the beginning when I pulled in pick up spot #3 (many spots open) and call the number they asked way too many questions in my view before I was actually checked in. Plus I didn't know all the information they were asking because it was for someone else, so I had to call them to find out, then call the number in my spot again. Then when I got to their house to unload, I found that every bag was filled with 20 or more cans. I don't understand how anyone would be expected to carry something that heavy from the grocery store. I know I cannot, I have had 3 back surgeries and that was ridiculous. By the time I was done getting everything in I was tired and hurt, sweaty, and so aggravated. I hope that we can make a conscious decision in the future to only put an adequate amount of goods in bags so that anyone might be able...
