I started it with a (lime) margarita on the rocks, upgrading it to top shelf. I ordered the Guacamole Mexican Style as an appetizer. My dinner was La Que Buena which is two shredded beef burritos with green sauce and cheese and all the trimmings. The margarita was one of the worst I have had anywhere. Definitely a watered down mix with tequila. Although I tried, I couldn’t finish it. The guacamole with just slices of avacado, slices of jalepeno, tons of chopped tomato and cilantro with two lime wedges on top, as if they forgot to mix it all together! The burritos were absolutely swimming in green sauce to the point where I felt like I was drinking my meal and the refried beans couldn’t be found due to the amount of green sauce on the plate! The flavor of the beef was good. I did enjoy the salsa, the service was okay and the atmosphere was okay too. The price was good. Needless to say, I won’t be back. A waste of $24 but I was full enough when I left...
Read moreLas Trancas is a fantastic, authentic Mexican restaurant right off of I-77 in Marietta, Ohio. Because the food, the atmosphere, and the service is so great, it has become one of my family's regular eateries.
I've tried several dishes there and they were all exceptional; but my go-to order is the beef fajitas served with fried rice, refried beans, salad, pico de gallo, cream cheese, and an endless bowl of tortilla chips with salsa. You can also get chicken instead of beef, if you prefer. The portion sizes are ample and the prices are very reasonable.
Another of my favorite dishes is La Deliciosa, which is a combination of steak, chicken, and chorizo (Mexican sausage). We always ask for David as our waiter and he always remembers our usual order. The service is fast, friendly, and not to be beaten.
The next time you're in Marietta, check out Las Trancas. You'll never want to touch...
Read moreAs you can see, I am a very experienced reviewer. I have tried some of the best Mexican restaurants in the MOV. My experience on 1/4 was pleasant to begin with. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and inviting. I ordered the combo that got me two burritos and a taco. The taco was beef and was relatively tasty. The queso dip, ( Which was an extra $4 with our chips) was good. The two burritos, which made a majority of the dish, were awful. More like taquitos. And the plate was soaked in water on the bottom. Upon taking a bite I discovered why. They chicken was dry and a little tough but very wet. A sign of boiling the chicken and then shredding. This is not a great habit to have if you want your business to succeed. I could have done a lot better. I pay for these restaurants because I don't want to have to cook. This experience made me wish we went to the drive thru...
