I used to go to the old location of this place, when it was called the Lunch Basket by WellStar Hospital. Today, my husband and I went to the new location because they had such great sandwiches and customer service in the past. I had already had a bad morning and so was looking forward to getting something to eat thinking it would be a pleasant experience. Was I wrong! I was trying to tell the owner how this was my first time coming there to the new location and while I was talking to her she totally ignored me behind the Plexiglas. Then when I was trying to order my sandwich, this was met with hostility. I don't know if she was in a bad mood or just couldn't hear me. She didn't seem to understand I wanted the sourdough bread and at some point had it in her hand and I was like, "Yes, what you have in your hand". When she asked if it was to go like twice, I couldn't help but say "Yes, away from here" though I don't know if she heard me. It was also stuffy and hot in there. I have never been treated like this at a sandwich place which used to be so nice to go to nor treated this way anywhere else. This is not acceptable customer service. I will never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt think Iāll be returning to this location. Iāve given it several tries on different days and times, hoping for a better experience, but I keep walking away with the same impression: theyāre consistently understaffed even during their limited hours and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
It feels like the staff is friendlier to their regulars than to new or occasional customers. Every time Iāve ordered or picked up food, thereās this unspoken vibe that Iām inconveniencing them, despite being a paying customer. Iāve never once felt welcomed or appreciated more like they want my money but also want me gone as quickly as possible.
The sandwiches are decent, but at the end of the day, Iād rather support a place that actually values its customers. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, but after talking with others, Iāve heard similar stories. Apparently, thatās just the atmosphere here but that still doesnāt make it okay.
I should add today, they handed me my to go order in what was clearly someone's used Kroger grocery bag like the kind you keep under the sink at home. I half expected to find a receipt and some loose coupons in there....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had stopped by as I took a tour nearby for business. We was met by a long line during lunch rush which probably meant the food had to be good. Both women was super friendly and quick upon ordering. Daily bread had a variety of sandwiches, salad, soup to choose from. We ordered sandwiches and it was a good. I thought it was your typical sandwich you do prepare at home. I was hungry and pleased. The food price point was fair. Their dessert (cake, single cookie and other snack variety) was super affordable as add-on to your tab near check out. Friendly check out pos system. They do take cash tips. Sometimes we can forget that all businesses have an overhead to maintain. The place was super clean and a warm touch, surrounded by wood surfaces. The atmosphere had customers who were white collar and some health care workers. Can be loud in there. All are welcomed. I been back but the parking lot stay full during the rush so I donāt stop by when I am in the area for lunch. Stop by If your walking distance. Perfect spot for lunch to treat yourself when your own lunch is leftover dinners or leaving the hospital after appointment...
