This place is quite enjoyable. The food is all sourced well (and locally when possible) and they try to reduce 'bad' ingredients (like salt and sugar) for better flavor substitutions. That's refreshing in a restaurant setting. And even with that said, the food tasted excellent. My lunchtime order of the meatball slider flight was delicious (the Thai style was my favorite) and the side kale salad was tasty (though the plethora of raw red onion could have been dialed back in exchange for a couple more cherry tomatoes). My wife admitted that the Spanish rice bowl with chicken was a bit under seasoned, but still enjoyable. It just needed something to brighten it up. Local beers on tap were a nice touch, but I wish the can/bottle offerings followed suit. The strawberry cheesecake mouse was a pleasant and light dessert to cap off the meal.
Prices were very reasonable for a lunch for two, but don't expect leftovers, at least for the lunch portions. Our meals ran us about $34 plus tip for two lunch entrees, an 8oz beer, a lemonade, and the aforementioned dessert (we split one serving). While the value doesn't jump off the page, the quality of the ingredients used definitely helped justify the cost.
The service was top notch as well, although the place wasn't that crowded when we went. Our waiter was helpful and checked in on us just enough. He was also helpful with the menu and gave suggestions when asked. It didn't take long for our food to arrive either. Maybe 5 minutes or so, which is very acceptable.
The atmosphere is quaint, though it could feel a bit tight with a crowded house. The outdoor seating is great for a nice day or evening, but be careful as the shade is spotty and the metal tables and chairs get very warm in the direct sun. Parking is also a bit of a headache. Only ten spots (including one handicap) in the back of the restaurant, with a one-lane driveway leading to the cramped space. Hopefully the lot across the street will be available once construction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSUMMARY: Great local restaurant for a healthy bite and great atmosphere! A go-to for brunch with friends or some vibrant "me time". . . . UPDATE (6/2023): Unfortunately have to reduce my rating. On my last visit, despite notations from my server about my dairy free restriction, the kitchen definitely wasnt thorough enough because I got sick afterwards. My server was apologetic and offered to make amends, so still points for service. The atmosphere and service is still great, so it will maintain pints for that. However, given the oversight on my meal and the blandness of my partner's, won't be coming by as often. . . . ATMOSPHERE is the best part of this place. It feels like your having brunch at your friend's house. The building itself looks like a home that was converted to a restaurant, both in structure and decor. The service is always friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating inside and on their front patio, and several places near outlets if you need to plug in for a quick work session ...but it is a restaurant rather than a coffee shop so friendly reminder to tip accordingly if you're going to stay long ;)
The FOOD is great. Their lattes are delicious - I'm obsessed with their Churro Latte. As part of their regular menu, they are plenty of Vegan and Vegetarian options, like loaded avocado toast and cauliflower steak. In my opinion, some of the recipes are unbalanced, but I love that I can get flavorful, healthy dishes at reasonable prices.
A couple more thoughts... If your party is more than 4 and you want to sit together, call ahead as the space isn't designed for large parties. Also, do NOT try to pull into their driveway. Not only There's an open gravel lot across from the restaurant - save your car from bottoming out and just park there.
Definitely give this place a try. Totally worth it, and worthy of a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I went on a Sunday around noon for brunch. We did not have a reservation, but there were open tables in the outdoor seating area on the turf/grass area. After being seated, no one came to our table for 12-13 minutes. Weirdly enough, the table next to us was seated with 2 people around 2 minutes after we were seated and were brought water, ordered drinks, brought their drinks, and ordered food before we had seen our waitress. I ordered the espresso tonic and my wife ordered the churro latte. Both were okay. Iāve definitely had better espresso tonics and her latte seemed watered down (maybe it sat for a while before being brought to us?). We ordered the avocado nachos, which we both loved! Would definitely recommend them. We would definitely order again. I ordered the salmon piccata and she ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. Again, both were okay- nothing bad but nothing special. Mine was a bit salty and had very little actual flavor. Hers was also lacking flavor and the blue cheese was a bit overpowering. Her bone broth was fine, but also a bit salty. It should also be noted that we both eat rather healthy ourselves- itās not that we were expecting super flavorful (as could be found in less healthy) options. But most of the food other than the nachos was lacking flavor. I will say, the atmosphere was pretty good. Overall, service was subpar. Our waitress was friendly but inattentive. Overall, Iād give...
