McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Marietta

Things Went Great! We were concerned about parking considering the location next to Kennestone Hospital. But there are about 62 spaces and after church on Sunday we had no problem finding a space. There was a few people in line but it moved quickly and they added cashiers as well so we got to order in 2-3 minutes. I ordered the Ham & Cheese Melt for $7.29 @ 710 Calories. My wife had the Harvest Chicken Salad (contains pecans) for $7.29 680 Calories. My sandwich: Black Forest ham, Swiss, mayo , spicy brown mustard, and tomato on toasted ciabatta. A classic that had soft pillowy ciabatta and I really liked the spicy brown Mustard. My wife's: Chicken salad with cranberries and pecans, spring mix and tomato on croissant. She loves Chicken salad and thought this was a pretty good version. We both have eaten at McAlisters Deli many times just not at this new location. The interior is modern, clean and trendy. It is counter-order but delivered to the table after payment. We had a wait of about 10 minutes to get our food which is pretty good imho. I also had a cup the Chicken Tortilla Soup. Looks like they use tortillas to thicken the broth which I am good with. It gives the soup more body and adds flavor. Some Chicken Tortillas Soup versions use a tomato broth without adding tortillas to thicken...I am good with both kinds. The sweet tea was sweet but not too sweet. Being from the south, I quote Jeff Foxworthy," It is sweet-tea. All one word. Not 2 separate words...just 1 word sweettea...and that means it needs to be sweet." This was just right for me. Service was good except for a little attitude from the food runner who saying "Who had the soup???" Since my wife also had some soup it did not help Identify the correct person to the food. When we finally showed the young lady which plate went where, we got an eye roll and a derisive snort. I did not ding them a star because it was minor but I will if it continues. You state the name of the sandwich and soup. Or better yet, fix the software at the register to put a name to each dish. Enjoyed meal and thought the price, taste and ingredients were very good. I not only would eat here again, I will make this a regular part of my everyday...

I usually get great service here, but today was one for the books. I work in a private practice nearby and tried to order my lunch online but kept getting rejected. I tried multiple times, but still got the error message. I figured I try later because I had patients coming scheduled in less than 30 minutes. I successfully placed an order for after my last patient. Well, when I was getting into my car, I saw an email from my bank stating there was a credit pending from McAlister and an email from Mcalister's stating there was an error with my order. Upon calling the restaurant, I was informed by Miss Rene that they have been going offline intermittently all day and that their credit card machine was down. I unfortunately only had my debit card on hand and no cash.

Miss Rene told me to come on through and made sure I was able to have lunch after a busy work day. She gave me my ordered items and threw in a dessert and drink for the inconvenience. I wasn't expecting anything more than what I ordered. But she went above and beyond. Her sweet, kind gesture was really comforting for me, as you don't see people treating others this way. Especially if you consider the year we've had. The food was delicious and paired with outstanding customer service! McAlister needs to give Miss Rene a raise and all...

Very disappointed in the service at this location. We have had bad experiences multiple times and decided to give them one more chance to make it right. I am lactose intolerant and despite asking for no cheese, they put cheese on there anyway. Multiple items in our meal were incorrect. They deleted one of the meals we ordered so we had to wait for it to be prepared. They didn't rush the order. We waited a long time again. We told them and wrote down the order. They repeated it back and still got it wrong. We tried to speak to them and all then did was say sorry but made zero effort to make it right. In addition, one restroom was broken. The second restroom had no soap, no paper towels and the hand dryer is broken. I even went to the restroom after an employee and she didn't fix it. We gave them opportunity to make it right and told them we had bad experiences in the past and they still did nothing and got it all wrong. Unfortunately, we can not recommend this...
