Let me start by saying how much my wife and I used to enjoy Freddy's. We were so excited when this store and the one in Carbondale opened. We attended opening week for both stores and have frequented both during the time they have been open. I can't overstate how much of a decline we've seen in service from both stores. Several weeks ago we ordered two concrete's from the Marion store in the drive through. We sat in the drive through line with the same three cars ahead of us for over 20 minutes. The line hadn't even moved. We had several other errands to run and weren't able to wait in line any longer so we left and went to Culver's (where we received prompt service). Tonight we went and again ordered two concrete's in the drive through. There was only one car ahead of us in the drive through and very few people inside. We sat behind the one car in the drive through for nearly 15 minutes until they got their one bag of food. We paid nearly $13 for two regular concrete's. Besides that the concrete's were a 1/4 full of whipped cream rather than custard. Because of the wait they were half melted by the time we got them. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Freddy's over the years, but can't justify paying for the horrendous...
Read moreWe are in Marion annually for a gospel singing and for years we go to Freddy’s on the Saturday night after the singing for burgers and ice cream. We chose this place because of their 11pm closing time. We walk in at 9:50 pm on 3/22/25 and all the chairs are already turned upside down on the tables. I ask the help at the counter if they are open, they say yes, but would like us to use the booths. I told them that we have 10 adults (ranging from 62-80 years old) and it is difficult for some to slide in the booths. They went to the manager and I followed, the manger said they were cleaning. To me it looked like it had already been cleaned. The manger did not want us to use the tables. I told him it was a shame that we had come there for years and had a great experience but I guess that was over. We all went to Applebees and spent a lot of money that Freddy’s could have had. Goodbye Freddy’s, Hello Applebees from now on at our annual Marion...
Read moreExpensive. The food was not worth the money, though my son enjoyed the fries. We ordered burgers, fries, and onion rings. Everything was extremely oily and my hamburger had canned mushrooms on it. We should have known when there were only two other people in the establishment at 1 p.m. on a Sunday. Clean facilities, wheelchair accessible dining area not over crowded by tables, extremely polite staff. The custard was good, but still too expensive. And the temperature of the dining area was very cold. We chose a booth which was wonderfully large enough to accommodate eating with elbow room. Hoping that this review is a result of the fact that this is still a fairly new restaurant. Not sure that I will be able to let go of another $50 to test this.
Update: Freddy's contacted us, apologised for the inconvenience, and sent us two cards with the value of a free meal each. We have yet to use the cards, but kudos for...
