First time eating there. Food was really great. Took a long time though or we think it sat there a while. Gravy was cold but the server just got us another. Had pushback from gentleman seating us. My husband can’t hear well and I requested a quiet place when he tried seating us around a table a screaming children and a very congested area. He wasn’t happy but moved us literally around the corner with more of the same and then a couple of minutes later started setting up a table of 7 nearly creating no room to walk between us and the table. Very disrespectful and clearly punishing us for as the plan because there were plenty of places to have originally seated us or the new large table. Started to just leave but our server who was a doll suggested she move us to another more appropriate table. Glad we stayed! The only other dynamic I can offer is that the management not get rude when someone wants another table. Maybe they have health issue and need to be somewhat removed because they have just had a cancer treatment or a number of other things. If you truly can’t accommodate that because your overflowing that is understandable but if there is room to honor their request please be courteous and respectful and remember they have chosen to bring business your way and not choose the other major choices they have in front of them. Also please have a night that you have a mandatory meeting and fix small plates of all your food for servers to try. They may not prefer a certain food but they should be able to answer the most common concerns like is this food spicy, bland or Salty! I find these days businesses just want the bottomline and that is getting people to work and then past that getting by with the least amount of training and just hoping that they come somewhat trained. Warm body, low expectations! Luckily our gal was very kind! Didn’t know the food at all but did her job the best she could! To bad they can’t polish their staff and a few other things to make their food and some of the service match for a better than average place! Clearly a Brand issue but great food and room for improvements! Staff can only be held accountable for what bar the management...
Read moreMy family was traveling between states for the Thanksgiving holiday and having never visited a Bob Evans before, but having seen them in many cities, decided to give it a try. Since we were staying at a nearby hotel, we opted to do take out. After placing our order online which seemed pretty simple, the website informed us it would be about 35 mins until it was ready, which seemed like a long time relative to other restaurants. Well, perhaps the place was busy.
Upon arrival we learned the the restaurant was definitely NOT busy, but practically empty. Inquired about our order from staff, and they pointed to a bag. Could tell just from picking it up that it was not warm at all. Staff forgot utensils, but luckily we checked for that and went on our way. Upon sitting down to eat a few minutes later, food was absolutely cold, and we could not figure out why the restaurant did not provide a shorter, more accurate cooking time, or TEXT or CALL US to pick up the food earlier.
As for the food itself: most of the dishes we ordered were rather cold and bland. One of us ordered a southwest chicken avocado which was the worst of the bunch. It was missing the avocado and the lime cilantro sauce. Another person had a salad which was missing salad dressing and was much worse quality than one from McDonald's or Wendy's.
In short, this particular location has poor service and cannot even make their menu offerings correctly. We won't be going back to a Bob...
Read moreWent today because I had just had a procedure where I had to fast for 24 hrs. Ordered potatoes soup, it was ok but my chicken pot pie was burned, inside under crust that was burned. It was impty, the veg and cream sauce was so burnt they were almost down to nothen, my husband doesn't like Bob Evans but took me because I was starving, he order two eggs easy over, two sausage patties, and toast with grape jelly, links instead of patties, hard hard biskets, strawberry jelly, and eggs well ok. Our young man didn't care, was shocked I ask for him to give me another pot pie, didn't give me a straw, after asking for one he left came back with a coffee pot filled about four table's, I motion to him, I said I need a straw, oh I thought I bought it to you,. The service was terrible, but the cook that sent out that burnt pop pie should be fired. I wish I had took a photo so I could of posted all...
