my boyfriend and I came here based off of a recommendation. we put in our name for outside around 2:10 and we were told that the wait was about 25-30 minutes- no problem. around 3:10 we were wondering about how much longer the wait was- we had been standing out front in plain sight the whole time. the hostess let us know that she had tried to call us and we informed her that we didn't get a call (as I said, we were in plain sight the whole time) and she said that was no problem and she would move us to be up next. she then proceeded to seat multiple large groups after she said we'd be up next. someone else approached the hostess and said they'd been waiting an hour and fifteen minutes and the hostess said she tried to call them as well. clearly their phone isn't working if multiple people aren't getting their calls. she immediately was able to offer them a seat, but still not us. they had a dog so they couldn't sit on the upper deck so they decided to cancel after waiting so long. they still didn't offer the upper deck seat to us at this point. at 3:30 we again questioned the status of our seat and someone else that works here overheard our seating issue and miraculously they were able to seat us right away. this is the worst service I have ever seen from TWO hostesses working together to get people seated. we definitely will not be back based off of that experience alone- are we invisible ?? we were basically the only ones waiting...
Read moreHeard a lot about this restaurant. My daughter took me for Mother’s Day. Arrived at 2:30 had a 40 minute wait, that’s fine. Enjoyed walking the harbor and seeing the lobster boats on a nice afternoon with my daughter. Got seated at 3:15, as expected, ordered drinks and appetizers, drinks came, very nice, the point Bloody Mary. Did not get the appetizers until 4:30, we should have left. The appetizers were good the jumbo chicken wings were the best . The calamari was just ok. Haddads is better. The waitress told us that take out was just closing down and then the kitchen would get back at the tables. We were eating my drink, It had bacon celery and olives. It was wonderful but we were starving, so we ate my drink. The food came at 5:30. I had the fried clams and scallops. Scallops were over done and the clams were tasteless. My daughter has the lobster casserole. It was overcooked, rubbery. The waitress was great comped my daughters meal and very very quickly brought her another. But she could tell that the lobster was frozen and not off the boat. The waitress was great and my daughter tipped her 25%. But I would NEVER eat there again. Haddads...
Read moreWe went for dinner tonight at the Point. This was the first time for all of us. One of the members of our party had a medical issue and an ambulance was called. The staff was amazing! We couldn't have been treated with more kindness and compassion. They packed up our food to go and sent us on our way with caring kind words. Even after slightly reheating food, clams, haddock, chicken dinnerthe food was delicious! If you haven't been there you're missing out on great food and the chance to support a an awesome group of people at a local business. Big shout out and thank you to the nurse who was having dinner with her husband and stepped up immediately to help and stayed with us till emts took over. You and your husband were awesome and so appreciated, we prayed that you would be blessed abundantly for...
