Adulis Café: A Must-Try Ethiopian Gem in Uptown DC & Silver Spring! I just discovered Adulis Café, and it’s an absolute game-changer for Ethiopian cuisine in the area! Visited today with my best friend, and we were blown away by the abundance of flavors in their vegan platters. Once you start eating, it’s impossible to stop—every bite keeps you coming back for more. We ended up lingering for over an hour, savoring every moment! Highlights: ✨ Perfectly cooked dishes: The lentils, chickpea stew (shiro), collard greens, yellow peas, and cabbage/carrots were flawless—shoutout to the incredibly talented chef! ✨ A vegan/vegetarian dream: As someone who cooks veggie platters often, Adulis is now my top choice for dining out. ✨ Organic coffee & tea: Don’t miss their roasted coffee and variety of teas (my pick: Earl Grey—so aromatic!). If you’re in Uptown DC or Silver Spring, run to Adulis Café! The food is unforgettable, the vibe is welcoming, and the flavors will have you hooked. Can’t wait to go back!

On my way home from work (I work in the Coffee Industry) I saw Adulis, and then COFFEE! I just moved back into the neighborhood, so of course, I had to stop in. I was met with a warm environment, heartfelt salutation, and the wonderful smell of fresh roasted beans. Zee was kind enough to make me a cortado (my calibration drink to see if I'll be back). Let's just say he made it, waited for me to taste it, then asked for feedback and offered to make another if it wasn't to my liking. The espresso was deep, sweet, bold, and smooth. Sad that I couldn't take a bag home because it's proprietary to the brand. But I get it! It's GOOD! I say... Give Them A Sip! Cheers!

What a friendly and safe place! Needing a place for breakfast and get some worm done, I walked just over the D.C.-Maryland border to this Ethiopian cafe and roastery. A couple took my order with a smile. They were very kind. My vanilla latte was great! They roast the beans in house. (You can see the roaster behind the bar.) To eat, I ordered the Ethiopian combo. It comes with scrambled eggs, chechebsa (chopped up bread), and a grain. It was tasty, especially with hot sauce that adds a kick. There's plenty of seating with outlets and strong wi-fi. Street parking is close.

came in with 15 pounds of green coffee beans, hoping to have them roasted and ground. The shop was empty — yet the two women working (both of Ethiopian background) were disengaged, talking among themselves and refusing to assist me. There was no explanation, no effort, and no basic courtesy. I wasn’t just turned away — I was ignored.

What makes this more frustrating is that I drove past several other roasting places to support your business, wanting to keep things local. After being denied service, I went down Georgia Avenue to Kefa Coffee. Even though I arrived right at closing, their team welcomed me, stayed a few minutes late, and handled my request with kindness and professionalism. That’s the kind of service that builds loyalty.

I was hosting an event and had planned to recommend your business to others, even handing out your cards. That opportunity was lost because of how I was treated. One bad experience can say more about a business than a hundred good ones — especially in today’s world where word spreads quickly.

I hope you take this seriously. Customer service should never be optional. I expected better from a business in my...

I am not an egg person. I chose this location cause I saw they had a non egg bagel option. When there, they were out of one of the ingredients so I had to get an egg bagel. BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS. They made me an egg white version of the sandwich which is OFF MENU. Very accommodating and again soooo good even though I generally dislike eggs.

The coffee was delicious. Which is my number one thing.

It was a very cute cafe. It got HOT though because they roasted the coffee beans right there in front of you. Which was also pretty cool to see.

Service was pretty slow. But overall good. Especially considering I ordered off menu.

I really enjoyed it and will...
