I would give this library 5 stars however, I have experienced multiple scenarios of micro aggression and discrimination by a library associate named Carolina. On 02/02/23 at 3:02 pm; I requested a conference room in which Carolina falsely reported that all conference rooms were booked. Carolina stated that the next available room would be conference room number 1 "beginning at 4:30." To confirm, I asked Carolina if I would have to wait an hour and a half? Carolina then started to hesitate and mumbled "I'm not sure yet." She then raised her voice and stated that the maximum amount of time is 45 mins for room number 1 (from 3:15-4) or I could wait an hour and a half and reserve the room from 4-7. Carolina had originally stated that conference room 1 would be available at 4:30, not 3:15. Carolina even stated that there was a "20 min grace period," but I could enter "as soon as they leave." Although this act (of removing the "grace period") demonstrated by Carolina may have seemed kind and genuine, it was completely pretentious. Conference room 1 was NOT even occupied to begin with. I was prompt to check the room after I noticed the inconsistency and contradictions within Carolina's statements. When I stated that the room was vacant, Carolina looked surprised, got up from her chair and peaked over the room as if she was oblivious. Instead of an apology for giving me the run around, Carolina attempted to gaslight me by insinuating that I am the one who told her that someone was in room 1. Carolina was deliberate in her negligence in providing access to a public accommodation. This discriminatory act violates my Human Rights stipulated in the D.C Human Rights Act, (Prohibitions (§ 2–1402.31). On 2/6/23 Carolina attempted to prohibit me from entering a room that I had already reserved. I will not tolerate any form of...
Read moreI really liked this library at first. However, as I started going there more and more, I noticed a very big problem. There is no strong regulation in the library. This suggests that management is very weak. Just this week alone, police were called two times because some people were disturbing. Almost every phone conversation that people have inside the library is very loud which makes it very hard for people who are studying. Management doesn't do anything about the people who are disturbing. This library needs extreme serious regulation. I may not go there anymore. I am highly disappointed...
Read moreI visited this location because all available research stated that Veterans could obtain free Notary services from Local Libraries. I went inside on this heavy rainfall early afternoon and I spoke to a friendly and pleasant guy and he stated that they don’t offer that service and I asked if anyone else had traversed to their location and had the same inquiry and he said yes. I’m confused that no one found it useful to ensure that incorrect information wasn’t being spread out to other Veterans. So for that reason alone I probably...
