Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Maryland

Wife and I stopped in after seeing the grandkids see Santa at Homestead Garden, we were first greeted by a young lady at the hostess stand she was very friendly. I asked if the food was good and she said it's excellent, so jokingly I said if it's not good can I bring the bill for you to pay. She laughed said sure but your going to like it with that she told me to try the pair and ricotta stuffed sacchetti it's her favorite. There were seats available but we sat at the bar, the bartender greeted us right away while we were getting seated he explained that this was his parent restaurant that his mother comes in the morning makes all the desserts except one (apple pie) and that his dad is the chef.

The wine selection is fantastic if you can't find what you're looking for here I would be very shocked. He explained that we could purchase a bottle and they will open it for $10 much cheaper than buying by the glass and if we didn't finish the bottle they would cork the bottle and we take the rest home. So we looked the lunch menu over there is a different dinner menu that starts at 4. I started with a basil Haden old fashion wife had ice tea wife ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich it came with fries and I ordered the pair and ricotta stuffed sacchetti with grilled chicken added to it.

It's pretty cool that this place is a liquor store and a restaurant, you can see the kitchen and the cooks fixing food.

Our meals came and wow everything looked delicious, I couldn't wait to take a bite. The wife's sandwich looked very good at first she asked if they put half her chicken on my meal but what they had done was cut the chicken in half and stacked them. My meal was delicious I was a little nervous that I wasn't going to like it but after the first bite it was delicious. Those small homemade pasta filled pillows of pasta were just amazing as well was the chicken with the cream sauce, I did ask if next time I ordered this could I get a little extra sauce he said sure. Well a few minutes later someone came up behind me and put down a small container of extra sauce, it just wasn't enough if I hadn't got the chicken on it it would have be perfect.

Now it's dessert time, we were told what the specials are and they had another rather large list of desserts, my wife ordered the peanut butter pie and I had the salted caramel espresso cheese cake. It's literally turned into a fast food restaurant and the people who give it a good rating are either here mostly to drink or just get 2 for twenty of mediocre food and tell the guy or girl their with it's more then that, and service is no more i ask for a check and she trys to show me how to pay on a computer I wonder if they know I can here to pay for a person to serve me. Update to his old thing I recently realized that my son said the same thing I said months ago without me asking and the seats need replacing it feels like a spring is going to come through the seats abd stab you they are literally the same sests from when I was a kid 25 years ago. It's very sad service is forced to tell you to pay on some sticky peice of thing that they could take care of. By the way for all the people who work their , cash tips don't get taxed and Applebee's is robbing you of your tips by forcing you to have people use credit cards to pay for food but seems like people that come here don't care they have a spring up theirs or their just to thick in the bottom to notice enjoy your guacamole millennials or I mean older people sitting at a run down bar to stare at the millennials starring at them. The ones at the bar are the only ones that even get real tips. Most people who order here don't even know 🍎 bees paying their workers with a pre paid card. My brother wanted to go here for his birthday. I couldn't remember when and which restaurant but I had seen an advertisement on TV, classic bacon burger, endless fries, and a drink for $9.99. However, we get there, and it's not on the menu. I asked the waitress if they had specials on burgers, and she said yes. However, it was something different, and the price was higher. I then asked if they had a 9.99 special. She said yes, but explained they took it off the menu because the promotion was about to end, and they started a new promotion. I said i wanted the 9.99 special. I asked for extra exta crispy bacon, but that didn't happen. The bacon wasn't even crisp. She apologized and said she said extra crisy and would bring more. The replacement was even worse. She apologized and said they never get the bacon crispy. So I had to settle for no bacon on my bacon burger. I was also disappointed because I never got the endless fries.
