This is my second time visiting Barra Brava. The first was a very negative experience that I chalked up to being the kinks of a newly opened (1 week or so) restaurant. My husband and I tried again, hoping for improvement. We arrived during a weekend night rush and as we started speaking to the hostess she left the counter to speak with other employees, no apologies nor "one moment". Once she returned, another couple had entered and she proceeded to communicate with them prior to finishing with the current customers she was originally attending to. We were advised it would be a 20-25 minute wait and proceeded to wait in our vehicle (there is little waiting area in the restaurant itself). After about 15 or so minutes, we were called and advised our table was ready. We entered the restaurant again and advised we were the party with a table ready to an employee (not the original hostess). Nothing happened and we proceeded to wait in the waiting area until someone who actually knew what they were doing finally seated us. Another 10-15 minutes passed, with no waiter in sight. We were then approached by an employee in a white shirt (manager perhaps) who asked if we had been waited on. He then took drinks for us. The waiter eventually came by to bring our drinks and take our order. The appetizer we attempted to order was not available (apparently no "Causas" were available, even though there are about 4 on the menu). We chose a secondary appetizer option and waited for our food to be made. In the down time, we were given cancha to enjoy while we wait. Our appetizer was brought to our table and somewhere into the middle of consumption, we were advised this was not our dish. This is unfortunately not the first time this has happened when we dine here. We asked the waiter to cancel the original entree order if possible, and that we would just accept the dish that was provided. They advised they would bring out my entree and cancel my husband's (he was consuming the incorrect appetizer). It was still another 20-25 minutes before my entree finally arrived. Then 5 minutes later our original appetizer ordered arrived at the table. I found slightly absurd that from order to arrival it took 45 minutes and arrived after the entree. To finish off the absurdity, after the appetizer was brought to the table, the white shirt employee approached our table to advise that a performer would be arriving soon and we my need to vacate the table. They advised us we would be okay, assuming we left before 8:30pm. I found that exceptionally annoying, considering we had just received our appetizer at 8:10pm. The food itself was pleasant, but the entire experience with the staff was unbearable. There is a clear lack of communication, effective staffing and individuals with any service experience. I have no desire to return and am very disappointed that my local Peruvian...
Read moreToday my family and I came to Barra Brava for Father's Day dinner. We anticipated that it would be busy due to what day it was so we came at 5:20 PM and placed our name on the waitlist. We were then called at 6:05 PM that our seat was ready. But we did not officially sit down until about 6:10 PM. We knew that they run out of anticuchos pretty quickly, so we placed in order for 6 orders right around 6:15 PMish. The waitress then returned and took our drink order and put that into the system. She came back a few minutes later, this was around 6:25pm, and we put in our food order. A little after 7pm, a man in a purple suit jacket (I'm assuming some type of manager) comes to tell us that they did not have anymore anticuchos. THAT WAS MORE THAN 30 MIN AFTER WE PLACED THE ORDER! Who waits that long to tell someone they ran out of something on the menu?!!!! Then our food slowly comes shortly after however, we still were waiting for a soup and chicken and rice dish. We had to ask several times to several different servers, even to one point some guy in sweats and a hat wearing an ear piece (not sure his role but he made himself appear important) and each time we were met with I'm sorry i will check. THE FOOD CAME OUT AN HOUR LATER!!! AN HOUR!!!! There was no apology or remorse or making it right from the management. i had to call a manager over and she acted like she had no idea what was going on. And her only response was this is good knowledge for us to communicate to our managers. I'm sorry, if you're that clueless on how your floor is being run, then you should not even be a manager. They may have good flavors but their service is something to be desired. We have been patrons here a handful of times and today was the last of my "maybe they're just having a bad night". NOPE JUST POOR MANAGEMENT!
Attached is a video with a time stamp when the soup and chicken came to the table.

I went yesterday (party of 4) after some friends have recommended the ceviches. Food and drinks were good but unfortunately dimmed by their poor service. Our server Amanda dropped the check on our table without asking if we wanted any more food, dessert or another drink. Mind you, we hadn't even finished our plates. While we found this rude, my friend decided to order one more drink before leaving. When she asked her for it, her face completely changed and without saying a word, walked away directly to speak to who I believe was the manager (guy in purple/pink jacket?). I could see him shaking his head and to our astonishment, he came to our table to ask us how long we were going to take with our drink because they needed the table. WHAT? We are paying customers as everyone else (spent over $300) and we have the right to finish our meals/drinks. This is not a place with a time limit nor we had been sitting for an extensive amount of time that had to call for them kicking us out. My friends, husband and I have worked in the industry for over 15 years and we have never been treated like this. To make matters worse, when we were paying and getting ready to leave, the manager had the nerve to jokingly ask us if we were having another round of drinks (to this point another 3 tables had left so he didn't really need our table after all). We kindly said that we weren't because he had kicked us out, and left. For what I see in other reviews this is a common occurrence, which is a shame because the food is actually good (Lomo saltado came with frozen french fries so that was really bad). Truth is there are plenty other Peruvian restaurants so this place will never have our business again and I recommend anyone wanting to spend their money, go to a place where you are valued and...
