Bertucco's Bakery — Restaurant in Maryland

I got married last month in Emmitsburg - (my husband and I aren’t from the Maryland area) so we went on a whim with ordering our wedding cake and desserts from Bertucco’s Bakery — we’re SO HAPPY we did! They were nothing short of spectacular! The chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were perfection, and the cannoli cupcakes were an absolute hit with our guests—people are still raving about them!

Each dessert was delicious, with fruit tarts and key lime tarts receiving endless compliments. My dad’s side of the family is Italian, and the cannolis were the first to go, everyone loved them!! The attention to detail and flavor for all the desserts was truly amazing! And what really stood out was their ability to accommodate my gluten-free needs for the wedding cake without sacrificing taste. The cake was fluffy, delicious, and beyond my expectations! We have it in our freezer right now, and can’t wait to cut another slice for our one month anniversary in a few days!

Incredibly disappointed in this bakery. They did just fine with my wedding cake, so I thought I’d try them out for my children's birthday cakes… they messed up both orders. I did not get what I asked for, and in my opinion I was way overcharged for the quality that I received. They spelled the names wrong (mine, and my sons middle name!) - even after confirming!!! They put the writing on the side of my daughters cake, which they ruined when placing it in the box, so the birthday message wasn’t even legible when we took it out. They did a very poor job on the edible images for the cakes. On my sons cake, I asked for as thin of a layer of icing as possible because my son hates icing, and they literally did piles of icing! It looked like a cake for a 70 year old women’s birthday - NOT a 9 year old boy! They gave me half chocolate / half yellow for the cupcakes, when I specifically asked for all yellow… I mean the list just keeps going. I wasn’t able to be there to approve the cakes, so unfortunately I couldn’t reject them on-site and got stuck with them. But I surely am not a pleased with the service I have...

You want to experience HEAVEN? Then this is the place. Well almost heaven. HEAVEN for foodies. Yesterday we got a birthday cake. A Boston Cream birthday cake and it did not disappoint. The first bite has the cake on the top and bottom of the Boston cream filling with the chocolate frosting on top. And it was almost sinful. Simply amazing! The second bite. The same. Until you finished the piece and were depressed that your piece of heaven was gone. I looked around and everyone in my family was experiencing the same joyful bliss. My mother who was celebrating her 84th birthday said this "was the second best birthday cake she has had". The first is a carrot cake baked by her friend Marge (she gave me the recipe but I have not made it yet) so we got this cake. I'm sure in her years she has tried some birthday cakes.
