This place was a huge disappointment. We chose it because it had the Alfredo that my wife was looking for, and the burgers/pizza that I was craving. The parking lot was mostly full so it seemed like a good sign but the dining room was completely empty so I'm still not sure where everyone was. The bar?
Anyways, the fact that half the letters in the sign on the front of the building were burned out should have been a red flag. The experience began with our hostess, who was also our server. She wasn't rude but she wasn't polite, either. Nor was she attentive. We had to wait a confusingly long amount of time to get salt and boxes and our check, considering there was only one other table that I could see.
This seems like a good time to discuss how the booths seemed like they'd seen a good 40 or so years of H A R D usage. The seating part was just deflated and baggy and the back cushion area was darkened with decades of uncleaned grunge and filth, and there were places where the backs of patrons had rubbed the material completely through as if it had been done with sandpaper. It wasn't fabric, either. It was that vinyl-like material that is generally more durable.
The kitchen must have been pretty competent, because the appetizer (pepperoni pizza twists, or something similarly named) was delicious, cooked quickly, and brought to the table by a very polite member of the kitchen staff. I had a burger that was good but not extraordinary (once again, from what I could tell it was a matter of ingredients and not the competency of the kitchen staff). My wife had shrimp and chicken Alfredo. She liked the chicken a lot, but the Alfredo sauce was just as bland as if it were heavy cream and nothing else. The amount of salt she put on it concerned me greatly.
Here's the upsetting thing to me that may not be apparent to whoever reads this: we are very simple people to please. We both have waited tables and bartended and so we understand the struggle and we are understanding and forgiving.. but tonight I tipped under 25% for the first time that I can remember and to be honest, it was a struggle to tip what I ended up giving her.
I don't require somebody to smile at me and make me feel special. I don't mind waiting my turn when it's busy. I don't expect everything to be perfect. But if I could have given my tip to the kitchen staff instead, I would have. Because they earned it. Making a customer feel like an inconvenience and being largely unavailable and inattentive when the dining room is almost completely empty are pretty poor choices when your job duties consist mainly of hospitality.
The bar seemed packed, though, so perhaps there's something to that. But if you're in the area and looking for a nice sit down family meal, there are just so many other...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Boston's Pizza in Waldorf, Maryland, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. I would give it a 5-star rating without hesitation.
The first thing that caught my attention was their impressive full bar selection. They had a wide range of options, including Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, EH Taylor, and Weller. As a fan of craft beers and IPAs, I was delighted to see that they had a large beer selection that included some fantastic craft beers.
Now let's talk about the food. The pizzas were absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend trying them. The Shrimp & Chicken pasta was also outstanding, and the Cobb Salad was fresh and flavorful. The menu offers a variety of options to cater to different preferences.
What impressed me even more was the range of events they host. From DJs to Singo to live music, there was always something exciting happening. I also discovered that they offer a 1/2 price bottle of wine on Wednesdays, which is a great deal. The happy hour specials from 3 pm to 7 pm were fantastic as well.
The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere, and I felt like I was at home with family and friends. The outdoor seating was a nice touch, especially on a pleasant day. Plus, they had plenty of TVs for sports enthusiasts, ensuring that you won't miss any action.
I should also mention that they have limited special private menu items, adding an exclusive touch to the dining experience.
What truly made my visit exceptional was the staff, bartenders and ownership. They treated me like family and went above and beyond to make sure my experience was personalized and memorable. Their warm and friendly service added an extra layer of enjoyment to my time at Boston's Pizza.
Whether you're a local or visiting the DMV area, I highly recommend Boston's Pizza in Waldorf. It is definitely a go-to spot that is worth the trip. You won't be...
Read moreI would not recommend this place. The customer service is sub par. Customers waiting to be seated and the staff are all sitting in the corner chatting it up. I ordered carry out. After waiting 30 minutes a young lady appeared and gave my order to another waiting customer. The customer informed her that it wasn't what she ordered. I informed her that I ordered the $25 medium pizza and $18 Lasagna. The waitress then went around asking other staff if I had paid. I informed her that I already paid in advance. I received my order and went home. When I opened the package, it was not Lasagna, it was buttered bread. I called the restaurant and informed them that my order was incorrect. I was told to come back for the correct order. There's 5 customers including myself waiting at the entrance. There are 4 staff members sitting in a booth talking while we're all just standing there. Finally, one young lady came over and asked how she could help me. I informed her that I just callled and informed someone that my order was incorrect. I ordered Lasagna and received buttered breed. She took the bag, opened it, and went to the kitchen area. She returned empty handed and stated, I needed to wait. I asked, where's the Lasagna that was supposed to received. She stated that, they didn't want it to sit, so they threw it away. Remind you, I just left with my order 20min ago. After waiting 20 more minutes, the waitress brought me the $18 order of Lasagna. When I returned home, the $25 pizza was soogy and the $18 lasagna tasted like store bought and was cold in the middle. I'm now experiencing nausea and upset stomach. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The customer service is not good and the food is over priced...
