I recently had a disappointing experience at Crafty Crab in Waldorf, Maryland and I feel compelled to share my feedback. Unfortunately, I can only give this establishment a one-star rating due to the numerous issues I encountered during my visit. First and foremost, the service at Crafty Crab was simply terrible. Our waiter, Evan, was missing for the entire duration of our visit. We had to meet with the manager just to locate him. This lack of attention to the customer was extremely frustrating and left us feeling neglected. To make matters worse, the food we received was cold and there were several missed and wrong orders. It was clear that there was a lack of care and attention to detail in the kitchen. Furthermore, we were never offered refills on our water or drinks. We had to request another off-duty staff member to bring us watered-down drinks that had been sitting at the bar. When it came time to settle the bill, we were surprised to see that an automatic 18% gratuity had been added for the poor service we received. Additionally, when we inquired about a military discount, they only added a 5% discount. This lack of consideration for our dissatisfaction was disheartening. Even the quality of the food was disappointing. We had to ask for to-go boxes for our leftover wings, which were already terrible in taste, temperature, and appearance. This was a stark contrast to my previous positive experiences at this location, and it was truly disappointing. Adding to the disappointment was the atmosphere of the restaurant. There were numerous staff and off-duty staff members congregating at the bar, which created a sense of unprofessionalism. Additionally, there was a security personnel who constantly walked around the restaurant with his kids, which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Throughout my entire visit, there was no offer from the manager or server to discount or offer any form of compensation to make up for the poor service and food. This lack of effort to rectify the situation left me with no desire to give this location another chance. Unless immediate changes are made to address the issues I encountered, I will not be returning to Crafty Crab in Waldorf, Maryland. It is truly disappointing to see such a decline in the quality of service and food at a place I once enjoyed.

I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply disturbing incident I experienced at Crafty Crab, located at 1120 Smallwood Dr, Waldorf. I was there with a friend and my 2-month-old baby, whom I am nursing 100% on demand. This issue could have caused a serious health problem for my newborn and/or myself. During my visit, I discovered maggots in my food, which is both alarming and unacceptable. The manager on shift, Alexa, was notified immediately, even though she was disgusted seeing the maggot her response was prompt, giving the option to take the food to the chef to remake. Alexa mentioned due to the issue there will be no bill. Once she brought the recooked food back she mentioned the general manager Jason stated I didn’t have to pay for my food but the drink and my friend would get 50% off. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no appropriate actions were taken to address this health hazard. I attempted to contact the general manager, Jason, at the front counter because he failed to approach our table and just delivered messages through Alexa to us. when I approached Jason with the issue and confusing of why did I have to pay for anything he was nonchalant and seemed indifferent to the seriousness of the situation. He merely instructed the other waiters sitting next to him to remove the drink from my bill, claiming this had never happened in their four years of operation. I pointed out that it could easily go unnoticed, as I didn’t realize the maggots were there until I was almost finished eating my first piece of broccoli. Given the potential risk to public health, I believe this matter deserves immediate attention and thorough investigation. As a concerned customer and community member, I hope this can help raise awareness about this issue and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such incidents from happening again. This event has left me feeling traumatized to dine in at any restaurant without thoroughly inspecting my food, disgusted, emotionally disturbed. It had to be the Holy Spirit discerning me to look down at the broccoli I was literally about to put in my mouth, after eating several of them to notice the maggot sitting there. It was not only on one but two that I could visibly see before I was too disgusted to even search for more 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Get rid of the wanna-be cop of a guard before this restaurant catches a true case of harassment and excessive force.

Waited over 1 hour with a toddler to receive food (fish and chicken tenders). When it did not come after 45mins, requested a manager that refused to come to the table. Once the server cashed out my check I confronted the manager who claimed he could not discount or refund a check that was paid in cash after the check was closed. When questioning why didn't he just come over to my table when requested he began to whine that he was attempting to address customers with similar concerns. Clearly poor service is a common and recurring issue with this location. When I objected to the store credit and inquired about the rationale, the "security" guard jumped in and began to direct that I tell him the problem... when he was clearly not the general manager who the "local" manager claimed was the only one who could refund my money. I asked why was he trying to get involved in a matter he could not resolve and he attempted a bait tactic which a customer nearby was quick to call my attention. I later recognized that the "manager" had secretly summoned the guard once I objected to the store credit. So instead of trying to employ good customer service this location chose to attempt to bully me with threats from their "security".

The poor management and quality of customer service shows a clear lack of interest in meeting the targeted clientele's basic expectation for food promptly (25mins before they identified who would serve my table, 45 mins before drinks/ water and 1.15 hours passed before the food arrived) or respect for the long suffering inconvenience (all the tables around me had their meals even though they sat after us) demonstrates that this Crafty Crab is not a place worthy of receiving my hard earned money in the future.

The food is well seasoned, if ever received.

MGMT please do not respond with the pre-written note of your desire to want to provide good customer service. If you aren't offering to correct my matter...
