Burger King — Restaurant in Maryland

I've been coming here for years and while the service was always slow (to where they will warn you before ordering that it's going to take a while) the food was good and people were nice so we continued. But after visiting today, I will not be returning. When we were walking in, there was an employee smoking right next to the store entrance. I said hello and he looked at me but said nothing. I have chronic breathing conditions, so while the smoke at the entrance i have to walk into irritates me, something as simple as being hospitable goes a long way because i do understand people may be working long shifts, but its common knowledge that employees, in their work uniform, should not be smoking at the business' entrance. We spent about $40 to try a little bit of everything of the new things, and after that when we got our food, they informed me that ANY additional sauce would be 30 cents. Regardless of the size of onion rings, you only get one zesty sauce, no subbing. I had already had to run my bank card TWICE because at their self ordering kiosk they were missing menu items, so I had to see a cashier to get the items we couldnt order at the kiosk. I wasn't going to run my card a third time for pennies, more so when we got such a large amount of food and were only asking for a ranch and a bbq sauce, not anything extraordinary. I should add that upon making the request (which was never an issue here or at the BK on the other side of town) I was met with a sigh, an eyeroll, and being spoken to while the employee wouldnt even look at me, which made it even worse. The food wasnt where it should have been, although I am sure not having the sauces we usually eat it with affected it. Everything was thrown together and messily fell apart as we unwrapped it. I should say that while we were here there were only 2 other people that came in and placed orders after us. Out of 12 dining tables, 8 were dirty. Some of them not just with crumbs, but smears across them. So were a lot of the chairs and the bar/high top area. I attempted to use the bathroom but it was filthy. I chose to instead wait and drive down the street to the wawa gas station, it was that bad. They're parking lot was also flooded but you couldn't tell until you turned off the main road and it was too late, no choice but to drive through it. My car had splashes all over it, up onto the roof. ALL this to say that honestly, most of this I could have continued to overlook if I would have been able to enjoy my food with my usual condiments. We were happy by our food at Burger King, it came it fairly quickly and was tasty. The biggest problem was they forgot our hash browns and we had to circle back. This was my first stop at this location in many years, it was convenient and they sell just pancakes, which is kids wanted. They three pack of pancakes was on sale for just $0.89. So we were happy with the price! It's a great deal for three pancakes. And they are beyond generous with three toppings they give you, tons more then you'd use. My wife and I got sourdough bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, on sale 2 for $4. They were pretty good, the bread could have toasted more, but the inside was very good. I'll take the Frisco sandwich at Hardee's any day over this, but with no Hardee's around, this was a good alternative. The medium soda is the size of a McDonald's large, granted not just $1 like McDonald's, but you can order smaller and save some money while getting a big size. The hash browns were not in our bags when we left. We had to circle back to get them. But the lady apologized and had it ready immediately. They were also quite fresh and good. I gave four stars due to overall price ($11) for two large sandwiches, large hash brown, medium soda (size of a large) and nine total pancakes (3 orders). And the fact that the food was good (took off one since bread want toasted enough). I didn't take off due to missed hash browns due to quick fix and sincere apology. I go here every morning for breakfast before work and lately I’ve been more than disappointed with the service. Last week I waited 10 mins to place my order and another 10 mins for my food with only one car in front of me in the drive thru. When I got to the window the guy George apologized and told me he was by his self so I asked him where was the manager and why weren’t they helping him and I noticed a guy in the back just standing around doing nothing while George was struggling to do everything on his own. I asked who he was and was told his name was Travon and he was the manger and asked why wasn’t he helping his employee and George didn’t know what to say. Thank you to George who tried his best to keep things rolling and make sure my order was correct. As far as the manger that’s ridiculous for your to sit there an literally watch your employee struggle and do nothing to help. Then yesterday my frappe was made incorrectly like they forgot to put in the mix it was more like a icee and also didn’t give me an icing for my cini-minis so now I’m at work disappointed with my breakfast, again.
