If this place had really great bread, something crusty and chewy, it could be legendary, but the soft roll is kind of a let down. I got two subs, The Bobbie (Thanksgiving on a sub) and the Wagyu French Dip. Both were delicious, but like I said, the bread just doesn't hold up. I got the fries this visit, they must be new, and they were surprising awesome. They're like thin cut steak fries. Some sort of house dipping sauce would be nice, but they didn't offer anything, not even ketchup. The soda machine was out of ice, and when I mentioned it to the staff, they just stared at me blankly. One of them looked and confirmed it was indeed out of ice, but didn't fill it or offer to get ice for my drink. They're open till 10pm if you want a quick late night meal. Subs are a bit pricey. I got two small subs (8") fries and a drink, cost me an eye-popping $37.

Food tasted really good. And the prices were fairly descent. Not super cheap, but not crazy expensive. However, the customer service and general employee excitement was lack luster. The guy who took my order might have been a new employee because he couldn’t really answer any of my questions about the different type of sandwiches. I told it was my first time and what he recommended and he all he said was people say the cheesesteak is ok. I had the Crispy Chicken Chipotle Cheesesteak. The vibe in the shop was dull...no music, old faded menu board that was hard to read, and employees who didn’t make eye contact or try to engage the customers. All in all a very tasty sandwich at Capriotti’s, but I would still rather eat at Jersey Mike’s because I’m greeted when I walk in, the employees engage me while making my sandwich, and their food is great.

Don’t order! I was missing my sugar cookie from the order (which I paid for). The sandwich was soggy with like 1 scoop of meat on it. Just horrible! The receipt says BOTTLED drink but they sent a fountain soda. The website clearly said bottled in description. Manager was rude when I called and said they don’t have bottled drinks like it was my fault. I understand this and it’s not her fault but even the receipt says bottled. The manager offered to refund the drink and sugar cookie but not the sandwich. She was very unapologetic as if I shouldn’t be mad that I paid for items I didn’t receive. I thought she should’ve refunded the entire order in good faith because it was clear the order was prepared with very little attention to detail. will not be ordering again. *edit* I never received my refund. Steer clear of this place at all costs.

I was familiar with the original Capriotti's in Newark, DE (friend of a friend's family business), but heard mixed reviews about them once they franchised in the 90s. We found a location near to where my buddy was moving in Annapolis, so I had to give this location a try.

For me, there's nothing better on the menu than The Bobbie. Glad to see theres now the option to have The Bobbie served hot (vs the traditional cold), which I absolutely prefer. It's a Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich (to those who are unfamiliar), but they slow-roast real turkey so the taste is exceptionally good and authentic. So you've got turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce on a sub (served hot or cold) with a little mayo. It won "best sandwich" awards for a very good reason. And to be able to eat this anytime of year, not just the holidays, is awesome.

BUT, the one thing these franchise locations can't duplicate: the bread. The original DE store had crispy Italian bread for sub rolls, and I've yet to encounter one that can even come close to that quality of bread. Like a bagel shop outside of NY/NJ, they'll say it's the water that makes it taste different and un-duplicatable. (Or do they just cheap out and get cheaper mass-produced rolls rather than ones from an Italian bread/bakery?) Either way, it detracts a bit from what could be an absolutely epic sandwich.

Still, if you haven't tried one, you really must. Crusty bread or no, it's worth the trip.

Oh, and get the “small”…that’s a normal sized sub, cut in half, like you’re used to. If you get any larger, expect to share or...

Poor sandwiches here 24d for a large sandwich Outrageous Outback across the road does a 3 course for 20d This is why people need to boycott price gouging in the USA Stop going to these places, My experience at this sandwich shop, Shop was dirty on entry 2 staff on duty doing nothing as I entered and they didn't care about the state of the place, Ordered my food tried to use the app for a deal the system was out of order was told by the lazy girl " no system no deals or rewards" again she didn't care, at this point I should have walked but I was hungry, Pepsi tasted of ordered fries with toppings a medium for 11d folks robbery they were average at best, My sandwich came out wrong no apologies were made and the girl tried to tell me I ordered that sandwich I had to argue to get the correct one I was hungry remember and she made sure to take the wrong sandwich back so I was left to wait even longer, I sent a email to head office and guess what no reply no apologies nothing I guess that's why the shop is always empty a robbing customer business that couldn't care less the apple never falls far from the tree I hope this business fails and they close up shop soon 37d for a s sandwich fries a drink and a m sandwich what a joke people...

Let's get the good out of the way first, I freaking LOVE the Bobby from this place! I've been coming here since it opened and every time I come back for a visit I've gotta have a Bobby. Always hits the spot and makes my day better for having eaten one. That is, when it's made properly and doesn't have any bones in it. Yeah, on to the bad stuff. The quality of the employees and the store interior have taken a MASSIVE nose-dive over the years. I remember when the workers were friendly, attentive, and had decent work ethic despite being kids working a food service job. Not anymore. Now they're standoffish, lazy, rude, and obnoxiously loud. Very much detracted from my experience. Also, the re-design of the seating area was a BIG mistake. Granted it wasn't super great before and had a weird flow to it, but at least there was a dedicated closed off area to it with high tops. It had a quirky sense to it that I liked a lot. The change to a fully open plan doesn't sit (heh) well with me at all. There's no real rhyme or reason to it, just stick a bunch of tables in a general area and call it a day. Oh, and my Bobby today had a bone in it, an occurrence that's becoming more and more common lately. Will not be back soon, not without a...
