Ziki Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Annapolis

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Went around 4:30p. No crowd..no wait time thy was a plus. There were dirty dishes neatly placed in bust pans under each hibachi grill. If the place was completely empty, why was there dirty dishes? STRIKE 1 That should have been my first clue to leave. My friend had a shell fish allergy the waiter wrote it down but did not effectively commhnicate with the chef. He went back to the kitchen and removed the shrimp from the tray ..came back in less than 1 min..STRIKE 2. Chef cooked food thoroughly stuffing eggshells and trash down in hole on grill with the same utensil aka "cross contamination " STRIKE 3 . I attempted to overlook all of that until my friend got ready to eat his food and the LONGEST piece of what seemed to be "never ending " hair was hanging from his fork. The chef signaled to the waiters they came over and went back to discuss as if they were trying to determine who's hair at the tsble ot could be. Unfortunately, not that it matters but there were two ballheaded men & two ladies with braided styles in our party. My friend nicely confronted the manager at the bar and told her the polite thing to do was to come over and apologize to the table especially me, as I was the one treating them to dinner. She came over and offered to comp his meal as well as cook him another meal in the back. I ended up paying for two meals only because my husband was half way done with his food and had a few peach martinis from the bar (which he loved btw) I refused to touch my plate b/c all of the rice was cooked together! I really shouldnt have paid for anything and will NEVER go back again. The video included shows an employee behind the bar constantly rubbing her hands thru her very long hair...I assume this is the hair tht was cooked...

I have come here for many years because the food and service have been great. I recently had dinner with family with my check being separate from the larger party. We had separate receipts with separate CC’s. My card was not only run for my bill, it was also run for the larger party’s almost $350 bill! Our original server did not run our payments. Instead another gentleman did who tried to say not to worry about it because it was voided”. I asked to speak to the manager who also said the same including the charge “will never hit your bank account because it was voided” before the transaction was completed. She simply only said “I’m sorry” even after I was able to display my bank had already received the charge. Again, all she said was “I’m sorry” and that the charge would disappear by the following day. That charge did not clear from my account for 5 days! The manager insisted that this would not happen. I and my family feel my situation was handled very poorly, especially since this was my Godson’s birthday dinner. This charge to my card was a significant amount of money. I’m only grateful that I am in a situation where this did not cause other charges to be denied, cause overdraft fees, or prevent me from buying groceries or fueling my vehicle, etc. My meal alone was not expensive. But to have to wait 5 days to have access to my own money after an employee mistake is not acceptable. Offering to comp my meal or even something in the future could’ve made this...

The service is very quick. As soon as you sit down they are taking your drink order. They soon return with your drinks and they are taking your appetizer and dinner order. The appetizer comes out, you will have time enough to eat one piece of the roll and your soup and salad are on the table in front of you. As soon as you start on you soup the cook comes out to start your dinner. It is an eating marathon to complete your soup, salad and appetizer before he has your dinner cooked. All the servers are very polite and efficient. On to the food. The noodles are noodle a few slivers of carrot and two squeeze bottles of sauces used on everything. Fried rice is extra and I do not suggest you get it. The fried rice consist of a few and I mean few green onions and very little egg with again the same two sauces. At our table we had shrimp, lobster, steak, chicken and scallops. The shrimp, lobster and scallops were way over cooked and seasoned with the same two squeeze bottles. The steak was the first meat to come off the grill an was done okay again the seasoning was the same. Next off the grill was the chicken it was cooked good seasoned the same. Last to come off where the vegetable same seasoning way over cooked. I can say the rainbow roll was delicious. If I do come back to eat here I think I will stick to the...
