SATISFIED. Bottom line, food was delicious and fresh - COME EAT HERE! Uncommon pairings to delight any palate. The sparkling peach tea and watermelon lemonade define the word refreshing! Service was impeccable, prices reasonable. I can easily judge a restaurant by how well they do "medium well". They passed with flying colors! It's a tricky request, not too much pink, not overcooked by the carryover cooking that happens between heating element and table. OG burger was delicious and meat well seasoned. Carmelized onions win best supporting actor. Sweet potato hash had me wondering what exactly would appear on my plate; I was pleasantly surprised. Super tender, not overly sweet and well paired with onions and other tasty bits. We also had the Peruvian burger. Flavorful, one point, ask for that egg cooked well if you don't like loose albumen. Pepper sauce is not spicy but the cheese was a bit strong for me. If you are a true fan of blue cheese, you’ll enjoy. The kale side salad it comes with was very raw which wasn't a bad thing. The star of that show was definitely the "chefs magic dust". We need to be able to purchase this as a people. It was REMARKABLY GOOD. I just tapped my fork on top to eat that, it was THAT GOOD. Seriously, we need this in Costco now so it can be purchased in obscene portions. Next, we had the Chopped Salad with apples, cranberries etc. topped with salmon. Salmon was moist and cooked perfectly but the scene stealer was definitely the champagne vinaigrette. Again, Costco - looking at you - we need this, in vats. Immediatchly. Finally, dessert! Blueberry crumble compote with grass fed vanilla ice cream - meh. Not very sweet but you get a portion large enough to share with 2 people. It doesn't look like it when it you get it. Its more refreshing, less decadent. It's in line with the rest of the menu. Side note, music was ON POINT! Not overpowering, all familiar tunes to just about any ear, that make you want to wiggle in your seat a lil bit. I noticed several people...
Read moreWas pretty disappointed in our experience all together. I made reservations a few days in advance for a Sunday lunch for my mother in law, myself, and my 3 y/o daughter. When we arrived for our lunch reservations (on time and not late) we were told that there was no seating inside and were given the option of sitting at a high top table (not sure what the host was thinking since I had a toddler…) or sitting outdoors (it was 40 degrees) on their somewhat heated patio. We were then seated right by the open wall that was not heated. We were told half the space had been reserved for a party so we couldn’t sit where it was warmer. We accepted the table we were given and just kept our jackets on. After we were sat we were essentially forgotten about and it was over 10 minutes before we even had our waiter take our drink orders. It was another 10-15 minutes before our drinks were brought to us and our food orders were taken. We saw one other table leave after not receiving service for a long time. After almost an hour from when we were sat, our food finally came out. My daughter got a pancake and I requested the toppings be on the side, they were not. My mother in law got a salad and I got a quinoa bowl. The portions are very small for the prices, and the food was fairly bland and underwhelming especially for over $20 a plate. It took another 20-30 minutes after getting our food before we even saw our waiter again to ask for our checks. Over all it’s very overpriced for the portions size and taste of the food. While our waiter was apologetic about the wait, and blamed the poor service on a big lunch rush. I saw all the other tables that were sat on the patio were also forgotten about and we all had long wait times for service and food. There are so many other great restaurants in Annapolis that True Food Kitchen really needs to up their standards for service...
Read moreTerrible Experience at True Food Kitchen in Annapolis
I recently had one of the worst dining experiences at True Food Kitchen in Annapolis. I visited with my family, including my parents, my wife, and my two young children. From start to finish, the service and food quality were incredibly disappointing.
Service:
• Slow and Disorganized: It took 10 minutes for our orders to be taken and another 10 minutes just to receive our drinks. When our appetizer arrived, it was a sharing dish, but the server failed to bring any sharing plates. By the time we received plates, the food had gone cold. • Inexperienced Staff: The server seemed completely new and lacked basic service skills. She did not clear dirty plates or glasses, making our dining area cluttered and uncomfortable.
Food Quality:
• Incorrect and Unappetizing Orders: My father ordered a pizza with specific ingredients, but they added unwanted ricotta cheese. My burger arrived cold and extremely salty, making it inedible. My son’s fish dish came with vegetables, even though we specifically requested none. My mother’s shrimp dish was cold and seemed stale, as if it had been sitting out for a while. • Overall Poor Quality: The food was not only poorly prepared but also lacked the fresh and healthy standards we expected from a restaurant like this.
Conclusion: I do not recommend True Food Kitchen in Annapolis. The service was abysmal, and the food was substandard. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area where you can spend your money and receive a much better dining experience. Save yourself the trouble and...
