Cheesesteak Mikes — Restaurant in Maryland

Ordered Cheesesteak, KFC Sammy, and Fries. The place is clean and the folks are friendly. The cheesesteak was partially inedible for me. In my opinion, the sandwich was 50% meat, 50% hard gristle. That is a 100% offensive texture for me. I do not expect to get unchewable rubbery gristle in my cheesesteak. If it was far, it would've been cool, but it wasn't. So I tried my wife's, same deal with the gristle. Why are these loaded with gristle I'll never know. I won't be back for the cheesesteak. The KFC Sammy was crunchy and sweet but missing heat. It's not the Bon Chin It's not too sweet it just doesn't have the umami you'd expect to have when eating fried chicken because the sugar glaze is off to my taste. The fries are OK. Overall this spot wasn't gross and the service was nice. If I'm thinking in terms of the pieces of the cheeseesteak I had without the gristle, it'd be a 3/5. But that's not the case. The texture of that cheesesteak was unforgivable due to the gristle and had to be thrown away. I give this spot a 2/5. Charlie's Cheesesteaks is a much better alternative. Cheesesteak flavor is phenomenal. Bread has good texture/chew. A little light on the steak. TBH: I was kind of in the mood for Korean food walking into a Korean establishment. However, I do like a good cheesesteak and the place is named Cheesesteak Mike's. It isn't the best Cheesesteak you will find nor is it accurate to Philly (which I do not personally prefer Wiz) but it is the best I know of in the area. I had noticed everyone calling it a Hole in the Wall. I suppose it is because of location. The food was good but the way I was treated makes me not wanna go back. I ordered my food and was asked if I wanted an egg and said yes. The waiter did not let me know it was an extra charge but I left it alone. Then I asked for extra sauce for my food bc the chicken katsu did not have much flavor. I was also not told that it costs extra. Then when I received my bill it was far over what I expected to pay for lunch that day, because of this the amount I tipped was less. This is when one of the employees started raising her voice “Only 1 dollar tip?!?” Yes only one dollar because the service was subpar.
