Conrad’s is usually a hit, but I had the worst experience today. I was celebrating my anniversary at work. Ordered almost $400 worth of food over the phone. I took my time placing the order for Kayden. I had everything written down. Went over it twice and had her repeat the order back to me. I even had my coworker listen to the conversation to make sure everything was correct. Myself, along with two other coworkers came with me to pick up the food. I was a bit skeptical because I knew it was a big order (12 people), so I wanted to check again. Always trust your gut. Kayden was confident that the order was complete. Once I got back to work, I handed out everyone’s food and once I got to my food, I noticed something was missing. I ordered the Honey Almond Salmon, one of my favorite entrees to eat. It comes with broccolini and potatoes. My coworker also got the same thing except no broccolini with potatoes and EXTRA potatoes. I’m extra, so I ordered broccolini and spinach, with EXTRA potatoes. There were no potatoes with my order. Immediately, I called and spoke to Kayden, and then she put Drew (the manager) on the phone. This is the crazy part…I’m explaining to Drew what the issue is. He was rude and insisted that I did not tell the order correctly after it was already confirmed twice with Kayden. He swore my potatoes were in a container, but there was only one box of side potatoes. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Whether I wanted extra potatoes or not, mine should’ve still came with potatoes and there was none. I told him I would come up there to show him, but instead, he said he would come deliver it to my job. Cool. I appreciate it. The food was just not that great honestly. Potatoes were disgusting. They were not made how they used to be. My coworker didn’t enjoy her food. In addition, another one my coworkers noticed that there was a long piece of hair in her food. We didn’t notice it until Drew showed up. Luckily, he was able to see it for himself. I appreciate how he handled the situation. He took the food back, made it fresh for her, came back and delivered it to her. However, this is not like Conrad’s. They are usually on point with their service. Total disappointment and will not be...
Read moreNEW UPDATE/EDIT!!! Came in for a quick lunch on 10/3/23 around 12:50pm. Maybe 5-6 (of 20-25) tables seated inside. 3 outside. I was the 4th. Got seated and waited about 10 minutes before the server (whose name I cannot remember & is conveniently not on the receipt) greeted & the drink order were taken. Got a soup & salad combo and oysters. Oysters weren't great (compared to local comps) The salad came out and the ranch dressing was suspicious. Somewhat watery and definitely tasted sour/bad. Server came by quite a few times and NEVER refilled my clearly empty drink. The intention was to order additional lunch items. Server never came by to ask if we needed/wanted anything else. Asked for the manager, after bringing up the issue with the salad. In the time it took her to arrive at the table, for the first time in my life, I ordered food from another restaurant due to time constraints. When the Manager arrived (around 1:45) she began explaining how busy they were (they weren't by any stretch of the imagination) to excuse the delay in service. Apparently several other salads with ranch went out throughout the day and were fine with no complaints, so obviously, I must have been imagining the sour/bad taste. Additionally, with no prompting explained that her husband is one of the managers/owners of the place & how hard he works, as if that had anything to do with the issues with the service being well below par. The $5 salad was comp'd off the check as if that mattered or was the reason for even complaining in the first place. It wasn't. It was to hopefully correct the issues so as not to have them repeat on my next visit, or anyone's for that matter. This being my 3rd negative experience and continuing to receive poor service, I don't plan on returning to this place.
ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE (4 months ago) First time in for dinner. Sat at the bar. Food was good overall, but certainly could improve. Cream of crab (ordered two cups) the second had 12+ shells in it. The staff could’ve been more attentive/friendly/welcoming. Took over 40 minutes to see an employee display anything but a disgruntled look. In all fairness it was busy, but it just didn’t really make me want...
Read moreA Cheesy, Crabby Delight at Conrad's Conrad's recently caught my attention, and while their seafood menu looked promising, it was the allure of their crab nachos that truly drew me in. I'm happy to report that this dish did not disappoint, delivering a satisfying and well-executed experience from start to finish. Unlike the often messy nature of this appetizer, the plate arrived looking neat and thoughtfully arranged. Crisp tortilla chips were generously topped with a blanket of melted cheese – and I mean lots of cheese, which is always a plus in my book. Scattered amongst the cheesy goodness were vibrant slices of fresh jalapeño, adding a welcome kick without overpowering the other flavors. But the real star of the show was undoubtedly the crab. I was pleased to find a good amount of it, nicely distributed throughout the nachos. The crab itself was flavorful and complemented the richness of the cheese perfectly. The balance of flavors was spot on, with the creamy cheese, the slight heat from the jalapeños, and the sweet, briny crab all working harmoniously together. The crunch of the tortilla chips provided a satisfying textural contrast to the soft toppings. Beyond the exceptional crab nachos, the service at Conrad's was also noteworthy. Our server was attentive and friendly, adding a touch of lightheartedness to the casual atmosphere with a good sense of humor. This made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Overall Verdict: If you're a fan of seafood with a cheesy twist, the crab nachos at Conrad's are an absolute must-try. They are a well-crafted appetizer with a generous amount of delicious crab and a pleasing presentation. I would wholeheartedly order them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a satisfying and flavorful start to their meal. Conrad's seems like a solid spot for a casual seafood experience, and these nachos are a shining...
