Updated Review - Store Still doesnt get the message! Went there 02/26/23.
You all keep doing that. Today, it was one of the store managers who did it. It is 100% inappropriate, rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional to remind customers they can tip ESPECIALLY while they are deciding to tip and how much. And now I understand why the people at the desk are doing it. Because they have a manager who thinks it okay. If you all do that to me again, the tip will be 0. And that can be a big problem because you don't know if somebody had a positive or negative experience. What if you did that to someone who had a very bad experience? You're going to have one really angry and upset customer.
Original Review!
I think it is extremely offensive and inappropriate to have your cashier's pressuring people and to giving tips. This has happened 3 times already and it is unacceptable. The problem with that is you all are expecting a tip and forget about the experience the customer had. Maybe there's a reason the customer might not be in the mood to give a tip. Tips are provided as a token of appreciation for excellent service. I am quite capable of giving somebody a tip and using the point of sale terminal for credit cards. I don't like it when your cashier reminds me of that while I'm in the process of deciding the tip. I'm quite capable of reading and thinking. I'm quite capable of coming to my own conclusions and making my own judgments. I do not like being pressured, compelled, or being put on the spot to give a tip. And if a customer has already had a bad experience with the service outside of this department, Reminding people they can tip is only going to agitate your customers further. If you want someone to tip, they're going to either do it or not on their own. I expect your cashiers to behave professionally and this is not professional behavior. It is downright rude, condescending, and...
Read moreWe came in around 1915hrs, party of six. We were seated at a table with five chairs, and the person who seated us showed our table and then immediately left, so we had to go find another chair on our own. We ordered our food and drinks and we got our drinks in a timely manner. About 45 minutes later, we finally saw our waitress again, who came to drop off a drink refill and apologize that the food was taking so long. All she could say was, "I don't know what's taking them so long back there, I keep trying to hurry them along." She left us a basket of biscuits and cornbread and we never saw her again. Another ~45 minutes later we finally decided it was getting a bit ridiculous and we decided to leave. We asked for the check to at least pay for the drinks, and the person who seated us came out and stated that, suddenly, our food was about to come out. After we told him that it's been an absurd amount of time and it was now cutting into our plans to keep waiting, they took even longer bringing the check. This guy kept going back and forth to the kitchen, then he came out and told my girlfriend, again, that our food was almost ready to come out. We had to tell him, once again, that we were leaving because of the unreasonably long wait. He sent another random waitress out with the check who again apologized and just kept stating, "I dont know what they were doing back there." So, we never got our food, the service was poor, people who were seated around us who came in after us got their food quickly, and we left...
Read moreMY FOOD WAS LUKEWARM! My wife and I always have enjoyed dining at Cracker Barrel, but I was very disappointed with my experience on 01/27/23. The weather that day was very warm, Cracker Barrel had the AC cranked up, and most patrons were wearing their coats. The couple next to us commented about the AC being set so cold. The waitress took our order quickly, and we were served our drinks (we both had water, $3.49 for a soft drink is getting ridiculous). We waited for quite a while to get our meals, I had asked for Cornbread muffins and my wife had biscuits, she brought all biscuits which I quickly pointed out to her and she brought me the Cornbread. I heard the gentleman at the next table telling the waitress the same thing occurred for him. I ordered a country fried steak, hash brown casserole, and steamed broccoli. The broccoli was cold inside! The rest of my meal was lukewarm! I was totally disappointed after the long wait, which we had not mentioned, but the waitress apologized for when she served our meals. So they were very aware of the excessive time it took. We were not an exception as the people nearby were already complaining about it. Cracker Barrel used to serve fruit preserve with the biscuits, but not anymore. It was not even mentioned by the waitress. I FIND IT UNEXCEPTABLE FOR A RESTAURANT TO SERVE LUKEWARM FOOD. FOOD has to be cooked too 165° inside to kill bacteria. How do I know it ever reached 165° if I am served...
