I dont know what is wrong with the service now days. This is an example of an establishment where food is fantastic, plenty of options just to be ruined by lack of service. I dont want my server to chat with me all day, but please put some effort at your job. The server sure did not want us in there. We propably interupted his Tik-Tok hour. Suggest, upsell, recomend and smile. It's that simple. The only time we saw the server smile was when he dropped the check. Do not ruin the business reputation. It's a shame.
Second visit:
I recently had another pleasure of dining at Cuvino Restaurant in Cockeysville, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the door, the ambiance exuded warmth and sophistication, setting the stage for a truly remarkable culinary journey.
To begin, I ordered the steak crostini appetizer, and it was an absolute delight. The tender, succulent pieces of steak were perfectly seared and nestled atop lightly toasted crostini. The combination of flavors was simply divine, creating a tantalizing harmony that left my taste buds yearning for more.
But it was the portabella pizza that truly stole the show. I can confidently say it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The undercrust, baked to perfection, provided the ideal foundation for the culinary masterpiece that awaited. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the balsamic-infused portabella mushrooms adding a delightful tangy richness to every mouthful. The combination of fresh ingredients, expertly balanced, resulted in a flavor profile that was nothing short of exceptional.
The ambiance of Cuvino is a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. The tastefully designed interior creates an inviting and relaxed atmosphere, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the culinary journey unfolding before them. Whether you're seeking an intimate dinner for two or a memorable evening with friends and family, Cuvino offers the ideal setting for any occasion.
In conclusion, my visit to Cuvino Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The steak crostini appetizer and the unforgettable portabella pizza showcased the culinary prowess of the kitchen staff. With their unwavering commitment to quality, attention to detail, and passion for creating extraordinary dishes, Cuvino has undoubtedly secured its place among the top dining establishments in Cockeysville. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience that transcends...
Read moreA friend and I went for dinner last night. Walked in very hopeful as the restaurant was packed, it seemed to have a warm, homey atmosphere (in the front dining area). The hostess was extremely friendly and accommodating which was the best part of the evening. This is a mid priced restaurant supposedly serving authentic Italian fare. We sat in the back half of the restaurant and I felt like I was sitting in two different places at once. On the one hand, there is the wall of wine on one side which lends an authentic bistro affect to the room. However, the cheap looking tables, the blank wall on the opposite side, view of the dated looking arches with random tall plants on top hiding the kitchen activity made me feel like I was in a generic hotel restaurant. Minimal and cheap looking Christmas decorations. Needs a little imagination. The table for two was uncomfortably small. I’m not suggesting every restaurant should look “high end” to be appealing, but it’s not hard to create decor/character that feels like something unique or special, even if it’s a casual place. Service was fair at best. Yes, they were busy but the service was lacking with long lags between getting attention and general lack of polish. But the worst was the food. Everything from start to finish was bland. We asked for garlic bread, which they do not offer but brought us a basket with some focaccia which itself was good. The bowl of olive oil was without any seasoning, there were no seasonings on the table and we had to flag someone down to get some pepper. I ordered veal piccata, my friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Pretty basic stuff. The veal was absolutely tasteless, the piccata sauce had an overly lemony zing and was thick and almost gummy. The over- cooked pasta was in the same sauce, which I ordered because I usually love it. It felt like a mouth full of mushy pasta in a thick lemony gravy. Normally, I would have sent it back but we were hungry and more eager to leave. My friend was completely disappointed in the generic tasting spaghetti sauce. He said one of the three meatballs was hard and also expressed disappointment in the lack of any seasoning. Had the meal met our expectations of even average Italian food, it would have elevated what was lacking...
Read more7/28/25 Great meal at CuVino. Shared the grilled calamari appetizer with my wife and had the eggplant Alta Villa again. Great service. Reasonable prices. Free parking lot. Wheelchair accessible. Wonderful.
9/3/24 Yet another excellent meal at CuVino. I shared the grilled calamari appetizer and the eggplant stuffed with grilled marinated ground meat. My wife and I are trying to reduce carbohydrates so we had the spinach instead of the pasta with this neal. I asked for extra marinara sauce and mixed it with my spinach. The mixture was excellent, better than either the spinach or the marinara sauce alone. I spoke to the owner and gave him my permission to put that dish on the menu as a side dish. I gave him permission to call it "Spinach Henry." I always enjoy giving a good review because it means that I just enjoyed a great meal. Well I just enjoyed a great meal at CuVino.
The place is nicely laid out with a nice Italian trattoria design. I've included lots of pictures. CuVino is clean and neat. The service is friendly and efficient.
My wife and I shared a grilled calimari appetizer. Most restaurants that serve calimari make it only with breading. This restaurant gives you a choice of calimari with or without breading.
We had a delicious Caesar salad with anchovies. Not all restaurants include the anchovies.
My wife had Chicken Chesapeake, chicken and lump crab meat in a delicious cream sauce. I had eggplant Alta Villa, ground Angus beef in an eggplant wrap with an excellent marinara sauce.
Our friend had Pasta Bolognese, pasta with a meat sauce. He enjoyed it.
Normally, I don't indulge in dessert, but my wife keeps telling me that gelato is better than ice cream. I tried it, and she may be correct.
Update July 2024: Great meal. Free parking lot out front....
