Update: I have to unfortunately update my review. We've been going here weekly for months. Food is still good but recently they keep getting my order wrong. They've given me the wrong sandwich, they've made the wrong pizza a few times; food has been getting slower. Seems like they're just taking the wrong order even though they repeat it correctly... We're going to have to start trying other places; I don't like finding out my order is wrong after I leave.
Original: I do not want to write this review because I'm afraid you'll all go here and it will be too crowded ;) We've been going here for some time now, we always go between events for our kids and get either pizza or cheesesteaks. We're from the Philly area, and the pizza here is great and the cheesesteaks and chicken cheesesteaks are great. They've never messed up our order and the staff is suuuuuuuuper friendly and helpful. Even though you place your order and go sit, someone always comes out to check on us while we're eating. We decided to try out their catering for an event (today). We ordered 4 different 1/2 trays. They gave us sooooo much food; it was soo good; this is definitely going to be our go to place for now on. I didn't take pictures (who wants to see pictures of food), but I feel like they gave us more than we paid for. We got salad and garlic bread with the food. We ordered Shrimp Marinara, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm, baked ziti, garlic knots; it was all amazing. I had a friend pick it up, they helped her bring it to her car (since it was a lot to carry). Can't say enough good things. Thank you sooooo much! Everyone...
Read moreI decided to try Di Meo's yesterday. I'll start by saying that I will definitely go there again!
I didn't eat in, but it looked like a quaint place to go for a nice meal.
I ordered Grandma Pizza and the Penne Arrabiata lunch special. Both were delicious!
The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce, flavorful and spicy. The garlic bread could have used more garlic and herbs and been toasted more, but it was good decent. The salad was a typical garden, side salad.
The Grandma pizza was a tasty surprise. This was my first time trying it. The first thing I noticed was that it was cooked in a round, rather than square pan. This is possibly why the dough wasn't crispy like I expected. (Warming it for 4 minutes the next day in a hot, dry skillet, them covering it for another minute, re-melted the cheese and crisped the crust.)
The pizza also had less sauce than expected. It seemed to be dolloped under, rather than on top of the cheese. It was nonetheless, a good pie.
The mild flavor and soft, moist texture of the fresh mozzarella added a nice contrast to the sharp, nutty flavor of the former textured provolone. There was slightly too much provolone which dominated the taste. This made the sauce difficult to taste in some bites.
Not having had one before, I didn't have anything other than sight to compare.
All in all, I thought it was good and would...
Read morePretty unhappy with how my delivery order turned out. There was an accident on Rte 3, so after 45 mins and the pizza had not been picked up, I called to cancel the order. The employee that answered the phone began arguing with us saying that the pizza was ready, and had been for 30 minutes and was waiting for the driver, and since they use doordash, it was out of their hands. This was obviously an unacceptable response, so a back and forth ensued, and her eventually talking to her manager, who agreed to refund us for a cold pizza we were not likely to get anytime soon. After she hung up on us, she called back about a minute later saying the driver had arrived and asked us if we wanted the food or if we still wanted to cancel. Obviously we didn’t want a pizza that had been sitting around so we canceled. I have no idea what the pizza or atmosphere is like because we never got that far, but I can say the customer service was pretty bad, and if I were the owner/manager, I’d have a conversation with that employee about dealing with customers who can’t get pizza delivery (even picked up) in 45 minutes and that she shouldn’t tell them it’s not...
