I haven't eaten at the store, it's much further away than I want to drive (I don't want a soggy sandwich that's been steamed in its own container by the time I get home!), but this review is for the Jeno's Food Truck. I think this is probably the most frustrating food truck I've ever encountered. It's as if they like being outside during the nice days but they don't like money. Trying to figure out where this truck would make a private investigator quit their job. I've actually contemplated sneaking up on the truck and installing a solar-powered GPS tracker on it just so I'd have an idea of where it is during the week. They update on Facebook, supposedly, but that is the absolute worst social media to do it because Facebook purposefully limits who is allowed to see your posts unless you pay them a premium fee to expand that percentage a little bit. So many times on Friday when I'm hoping Jeno's is at the Jacobs building on Milestone, I look them up on Facebook for info and there is no update. So I go somewhere else, then on the following Monday, I refresh the page and it says they posted at like 8 in the morning on that Friday. I've often thought about asking if they could give me their schedule and I'd run their Twitter account just to get a valid, updated schedule available to me. If they could just advertise with some level of conscious effort I'm sure they'd have way more visitors to their truck, especially for the people who have access to those restricted sites like NSA or APL but don't work on those sites all the time. Anyway, Jenos food truck has such great cheesesteaks and fries and onion rings. But, the way they behave though it's almost like some forbidden, blackmarket delicacy that only those in the know can ever have access to. I mean, I called up the store once, at lunch time, and the person gave me the wrong address so I ended driving all over the place. This truck is so nebulous that their own restaurant didn't even know where they were. I ended up settling on some other food truck instead. If you can find this food truck, then grab some while you can, by the time you find them again they might have disappeared from our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately I had a very bad experience at Jenoās. I happened to be in Severna Park and thought to get my daughter and mother a sub for lunch. I placed a simple order for two subs and fries - (nothing special) provolone and onions on one and tomato/lettuce on the other. After placing my order, I watch at least six others place orders after me - they were busy. Patiently, I watched as others started to receive their food. Around person #4, the staff member looked me in eyes and said, ā your food is comingā. I moved closer to the window; just so that the staff could see me. Two ladies walked up to the register and ordered (by now Iāve listened to almost an entire podcast (30-40 min))- believe or not , their food comes out before my simple subs.
At 56 years old I know when Iām being treated with respect that deserves my patronage. I politely asked the employee to simply refund me and I would leave. Iāve spent nearly an hour trying to get lunch. He immediately said that because I had orders that included fries, othersā were first to get their food. But I had watch practically every other order leave with fries as well. Within seconds of requesting a refund, he hands me the bag with the food. The food had to be ready before I approached them, but for some reason he kept preferring other customers. I was clueless.
My daughter thought the sub was fine; but for me, service left a lot to be desired. Iām sure that Iāll never go to Jenoās again. Iām sure they are fine people, theyāve been in the community for a long time. I wish them the best; but my experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are many displays asking customers to post their feedback online. In response to those displays, what follows is my feedback.
I decided to stop by here and pick up a cheese steak for dinner, having pulled it up on my phone and no prior knowledge. I was immediately floored by the prices-$8.20 for a basic cheese steak. I hoped that it would come with fries (it didn't), but they did have a special on their takeout menu for a cheese steak, fries and drink for ~$9.50. I assumed I would be getting that, until I was told that was "lunch only" at payment (despite the menu saying "Special: Monday-Thursday" with no mention of time).
Getting fries was quickly dismissed as their small order was ~$3.50! At this point, I decided just to get the sandwich as I wasn't paying $15+ for a cheese steak, small fries and can of soda. I walked out hoping this would be the best cheese steak ever.
It wasn't. The sandwich seemed extremely small, perhaps 6 inches. The taste was OK, but I left there still hungry after having paid $9.30. The shopping center really run down and their store seemed really small (take-out only imo), cramped and dirty. The employees did a fine job, my main issue was with the price. I regularly get a cheese steak and fries at Aviation Deli, which I really enjoy, for $8.
If the sandwich was priced similarly, fine. However, with this place costing 1.5X what other places do while tasting inferior is unacceptable to me. I won't...
