Today is the day that cuisine died.
For the past 2 years I have had many ups and downs within my life. The pandemic, a Failed Marriage, Betty White's passing to name a few. Throughout this time their has only been one constant in my life. One recurring experience that would indubitably fill my stomach and I with immense pleasure and happiness. That Light in the World of Darkness was ordering Kung Pao Chicken (w Extra Pao) from Joy Luck 2.
I'm unsure what happened. What changed? Did I do enough? Should I have communicated more often? Could I have been more affectionate? Was I the reason that things turned so bad? I asked similar questions when my marriage fell to bits.
𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨. This was the first cause of worry to my being. "Huh, a Circular container instead of a Rectangle Container? They really must be swinging for the fences with this new marketing campaign!" Is what I initially thought. But unfortunately the shape of container was not the only thing that changed, The shape of my heart did as well.
I am unsure what caused the change in quality and container. But I am sure that it was a change for the worse. The man behind the counter "Jimmy", who used to pick me up with his "Wok Hay" was no longer present. I hope you are doing well. I can only imagine with whatever venture you are pursuing has the same Breath of Life as your cooking did Sir.
Your food picked me up when I was down. Your food brought a smile to a stale face when nothing could. The only thing your food could not fix was my blistering marriage, but I do not hold this against you. Your food made me 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 again. No, not your food, YOU.
You will be missed. You will be loved. You will be honored.

Read moreI can't forget to post this horrible race based experience!! My husband and I stopped at this little spot for lunch on Saturday, March 1. The lady at the counter with (short hair) seemed pretty nice. She honored our lunch special, even though it was Saturday, so I was thankful for that. I asked to use the restroom, so she handed me the keys to do so. Once we received our food my husband asked if they had any chopsticks, and the lady ignored him, just as she was going in the same direction as the chopsticks, so he asked again, just as she was walking away, she pointed in that direction and said “yea they are over there”. (We thought this was very interesting). Long story short, the food was pretty good! On our way out, my husband asked if he could use the restroom, but at this time there was an older man at the register counting the money. The man immediately replied “bathroom out of order”. So I'm like “I just used the restroom earlier and we're paying customers,so what do you mean it's out of order”. He continued saying it was out of order. The lady then came back up to the counter, so I asked her if my husband could use the restroom, so she handed him the keys. The lady and the man then began speaking loudly in their native language. The man was too embarrassed to look up after that, because he knew that was bad businesses. I also told him, that was “bad business and not right and that I would definitely leave a review”. “Black people” we definitely need to re-evaluate the way we are being treated bc of the color of our skin. We pour way too much money into the Asian community, to be treated in such a way!! Will never eat or spend my hard earned money where I'm...

FOOD WAS COLD AND OF POOR QUALITY, NOT TO MENTION THEY CHARGE YOU TO UPGRADE TO FRIED RICE AND STILL GAVE US WHITE RICE. WHEN THE ISSUE WAS BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, THEY FELT LIKE THEY WERE DOING US A FAVOR BY ADDING A EXTRA BAG OF THEM DRY CRAB RANGOONS, INSTEAD OF THE 2 ORDERS OF SPRING ROLLS WE DID IN FACT ORDER. THEN HAD A NERVE TO ASKED FOR THE EXTRA CRAB RANGOONS BACK WHEN I ASKED ABOUT REPLACING THE FOOD THEY FORGOT TO SEND WITH OUR ORDER. SOME LADY KEEP ARGUING WITH ME ABOUT WANTING THE FREE FOOD BACK LIKE SHE WAS GONNA BE ABLE TO USE IT. NEVER RETURNED WITH MISSING FOOD AND THEY AGAIN PROCEEDED TO ARGUE WITH ME, NOT COMMUNICATING CLEARLY FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND. CO WORKER REQUESTED REFUND FOR MISSING FOOD AND THEY ACT LIKE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT!!!
