All right! To be fair the first time I came here we were pretty disappointed in what we received⦠canāt even remember what we got. That was five years ago. Things have changed! Every time I walk by and see someone eating outside at a table I asked them howās the food? I always ask and in most cases people will give me a pretty honest review. And they seem to enjoy it. My wife and I visit Home Goods often to find good quality items for our home and kitchen. And occasionally you want to eat or snack and there are a few places around. Pasticcio, is one of the few pizza joints /Italian restaurants around. And you know how I feel about Pizza, if it aināt done right Iām not eating it. I love pizza, I love making it at home, but I also love eating it out! I did a review on one of my favorite places⦠This pizza joint is small, kind of a walk-in and walk out with a few seats inside and some umbrella and tables on the outside to enjoy on a good day. A lot of joints in New York are like this one. They donāt have a brick oven. They do have a double deck Pizza Oven and have quite a few specialty pizzas to choose from. I decided to try out the āgrandma styleāmargarita which isnāt as thick as a deep dish and is slightly thicker than a regular pizza and a little smaller than a Sicilian. With a nice chewy crispy crust. Flavors were there. It was very cheesy. It was a very good slice of pizza. š My wife, got the āturkey wrapā. It was OK⦠Iām Not a big fan of wraps that are more wrap than ingredients. This one was a small wrap compared to others we have had before at other locations. But was still good. š there was an Italian guy there speaking Italian and enjoying his pizza. Itās nice to see when people enjoy their food and itās done right! I do plan on going there again even talked to one of the managers about some video and photos in the kitchen, so Iām sure I may be showcasing them here. But if you are in the Annapolis area and near the mall and would like a slice of pizza or some #Italian food. They have a very big menu, and serve everything from Pasta to #Pizza and more in between. Check them out next time youāre in the Annapolis area or near the Westfield Annapolis Mall. Thanks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read more"L'antica Pizzeria Da Michele", this simple and unpretentious pizza place in the home of the pizza, Naples, is the Gold Standard for pizza and a place that I was fortunate enough to eat at numerous times during the course of the four years that I lived in Naples and Ischia. What makes it so great? The same qualities that make Pasticcio so great: A thorough knowledge of the product and fidelity to it's confection; mastery of all of the facets involved in producing this perfect, ageless gem of the cuisine of Naples; pride in using the freshest ingredients to make it. Back in the day when I lived in Naples, I could still eat gluten. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. However, I've found Pasticcio (thank you, Lord!) and their delicious gluten free crust! It's the best that I've had in the 10 years since I've been gf! Now I no longer feel like I'm missing out on the wonderful, thin, Napoletano style pizza crust! Pasticcio's pizzas (or rather, focaccias, since they are made like most pizzas in the U.S. with an electric oven as opposed to a wood burning one) are as good as you're going to find on this side of the Atlantic. This is no exaggeration! And not only are their pizzas wonderful, but so is all the other fare that they have on offer. I LOVE their Octopus Salad, which is perfectly cooked, and accompanied by simple and fresh ingredients! So, GRAZIE MILLE, davvero, PASTICCIO,!! You deserve sincere recognition for all of the hard work that I know goes into your products on a daily basis and especially in maintaining your high standard! Know that your efforts and Artisan work are greatly appreciated in the community! And please KEEP IT UP so that Maryland residents may continue to enjoy a taste of your city's celebrated Iconic, Authentic and Wonderful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, this is a one and done! We drove from Bowie to pick up an order for $82.00 on 7/30/23 which included a pizza, house salad, meatballs, chicken marsala, baked ziti and lasagna. Pizza was ok, however, we ordered black olives and they put kalamata olives on instead as that is what they consider black olives. Quite a difference. Salad was good and fresh. Meatballs were ok. The lasagna had a bad smell from the meat. Chicken "supposed" marsala was disgusting. Chicken was NAKED AND AFRAID... boiled or microwaved with no coating nor seared. The sauce was a pale yellow like cream of chicken soup. Both entrees were thrown out. You could tell the ziti was frozen. On a good note, the rolls were fresh and seemed homemade.
I called and asked for the manager or owner. The guy who answered told me the manager would be in the next day. I told him the main concern was to check their portions of lasagna to avoid anyone getting sick. I called the next day and the owner had already left for the day at 2 p.m. I called again on the third day and finally spoke to the owner. After explaining SOME of the concerns, he stated all product is fresh and confirmed there was no way the meat could be bad in the lasagna. After cutting me off to say he was busy and not letting me say the good things about the salad and rolls, he offered free chicken marsala and lasagna for "Next time." Sorry sir, there won't be a next time. I did see another bad Google review (after the fact) about the chicken marsala. Seems as though they don't have a clue what a real marsala is supposed to look...
