We were excited and arrived at 5:15 to support the STMS fund raising event at the Kent Island Ledo's restaurant. Our server was sweet, friendly, delightful, and very attentive. There were 5 other patrons in the restaurant at the time we arrived. We ordered a drink and within 5 minutes we both had ordered our meals and a to go meal as well. At 5:40 ish, my husband's calzone was delivered. My food-King's Chicken sandwich was not delivered. At 5:55, I asked our server if my meal was coming out. A few minutes earlier, I told my husband to please start eating his dinner because it was getting cold. I was sure that mine would be out any minute. My husband was almost finished his entire meal. We were told that it was still being prepared and to give them 5minutes. The online orders were going out, first. Our server told us that they realized I was waiting a long time over 30 minutes..my husband was completely finished, and I would get a discount. In the meantime, the restaurant is filling up, the table next to us received their pizza and another table received their entire meal. If the new King's chicken sandwich is difficult to make--55 minutes later -it should not be on the menu!!!! At 6:10, my food arrived with the to go order. My husband asked for the check and I asked to speak with the manager. The manager, Curtis, did not come to our table. Our check arrived. No discount for my meal. We waited a few more minutes but no manager arrived to speak with us. I walked to the front to pay our bill and to speak with a manager. Curtis, the manager, told a different server that he was busy. I waited. Our server said Curtis said just to leave and not come back. I beg your pardon. I have lived here 30 years and we have been good Ledo's customers for a very long time. I said I am not paying this bill until I speak with Curtis. Curtis told our server, to tell me, to leave, he didn't care if I paid the bill, and not come back. We tipped our server over 22% (only cash we had) and told her she did a fabulous job. I believe CURTIS needs management training, help with staffing for a fund raising event, to be visible for his employees and the patrons in the restaurant. Two other tables got up and left because they were never served. Curtis owes every person waiting an apology for his lack of preparation. More importantly, he owes his servers an apology because they had to take the brunt of all of the customers waiting in the restaurant for their food and the people standing in line for their carryout orders. The online orders should NEVER take precedence over the patrons who are sitting in the restaurant .. and certainly not be told that was the case. Please advise who the corporate person to speak with is for this very unfortunate situation. Thank...
Read moreWe ordered a spinach salad with blue-cheese dressing and no onions. There was a total of 4 baby tomatoes. The sauce received rave reviews from KK and Eli, and I noted that it actually had chunks of cheese in it. The spinach was fresh and not wilty.
KK had the calamari and chips, minus the spicy red peppers. I've never seen chips like the ones here! They were like mesh nets but still actual chips (rather than what I would call crisps that come in a package!). They had some sort of spicy ?salt? on them which was also good. The calamari passed muster but KK preferred the 4 cheese pizza I had ordered.
I was disappointed in the 4 cheese pizza. I love asiago cheese for its tang, and I was so excited for it! But it just tasted like a regular old Margarita. Instead I shared Eli's Ray's BBQ Chicken pizza, which was excellent. Mmm, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I wasn't excited by the bacon, but I'm just over bacon. The crusts were nice and crisp and not too thick.
Afterwards the bill came to a very reasonable $51.
Our second experience was the night after of a take-home box of 3 large pizzas: Margarita, Pepperoni, and Sausage & black olive. I didn't think that any of the pizzas were something special, but the pizzas were square, and the pieces maybe 2x2 inches. The pepperoni pizza had one piece of pepperoni per slice. It was plenty of food for 2 kids & 8 adults because...
Read moreThe food is alright. The management and ownership is the problem. My family had dinner on Saturday night, my son who is 2, accidently left his paci and toy rings on the table. We walked over to Kmart for maybe 30 min before realizing they were left. When we walked back, they were thrown out. I called and spoke with Steve, one of the managers and he was kind enough to apologize and wrote down my info for the owner and said I would get some compensation. I never received a call. I called, spoke with the owner, who was very rude, and not apologetic. And said, "it's a child's pacifier and toys" yes, they are inexpensive to replace, but the fact that he didn't apologize for their mistake was unbelievable. When I asked that I wanted compensated somehow, he said that was out of the question. We will gladly never dine at Ledo's again. I'm appalled at how the owner dismissed me as a paying customer. Had he just been apologetic, the conversation would have gone smoother. Unfortunate that KI doesn't have many family restaurants to eat at. I will gladly go across the bridge to Annapolis for kinder service and...
