For so long Eldersburg has been without a good Mexican restaurant. Finally, our prayers have been answered. The service was excellent. Eduardo was more than attentive not to mention friendly. The menu had a good variety of dishes to satisfy all desires. My wife usually has to settle for a quesadilla due to lack of options for non-carne eaters. Well, not only did she have to decide between all the vegetarian and seafood choices, she ate all of it! The dessert menu is just as complete. Great choices and just as delicious. The atmosphere was charming and reminiscent of being in the plaza square. With televisions suspended from the ceiling and over the bar in the back, it was easy to keep an eye on the Oriole's game without being rude to your dinner companions. There is a full bar at the back of the dining room. We would have never known it was there. Seating options included tables for larger parties and booths for smaller parties. We usually opt for a table because a booth is not comfortable because they are usually secured to the floor or the wall and do not leave adequate space for a large man to sit without being wedged into the seat. Los Aztecos is the exception! Our booth was very comfortable and accommodated my size easily. It is obvious that Los Aztecos has made an investment in serving the Eldersburg community and is here to stay. We look forward to our next...
Read moreMy korean wife who loves authentic Mexican food, my toddler son and I stopped by this evening, and we only went in to this place due to the high rating. We ordered combination dinner for me and classic Mexican steak fajitas for my wife... um.... it was so bland (people say, "just add salt," but no, restaurants should already have seasoning on their food when they cook... very unprofessionally cooked). Isn't a mexican restaurant supposed to master their basic fajitas menu? I'm confused. Mine was just Oh-kay and my wife's had burnt smell, meat tasted old, and was like as if it was cooked for ill elderly who wasnt allowed any sodium. She loves to cook authentic international food at home, and she said she is able to cook better than this as a Korean (since people expect food in restaurant to contain taste that is not as easily replicateable at home). If you want to try, you are welcome, but if you are sensitive high quality taster like my wife, then a big NO.
They also brought my dessert before my meal...and because I complained they just put the dessert in the freezer as is which made the-fried -thing that comes with the icecream (i forgot and it's not churros) really really hard. And it says it's supposed to have banana slices, but we...
Read moreI am not a huge fan of Mexican food in US. Most of it is nothing special. However, Los Aztecas blew my mind... I've had the worst tacos ever here. Taco Bell deserves 5 stars compared to this joint. Taco Tuesday is a joke! They serve the same two tacos on the "special" day, but offer a discount on a hard shell. It's fine if what's inside is good, but it isn't. The chicken taco tastes like canned chicken. It is flavorless and watery. Beef taco... I am not even sure what to say about that one. It is a brown ground substance. Taco Tuesday was actually our second visit. We came to Los Aztecas on Sunday for linner. I got carnitas. I do not remember the last time I ordered a dish and thought about re-cooking it at home. Nearly flavorlass pork was topped with canned jalapenos. Not a sprig of fresh cilantro anywhere in sight. Oh, during dinner hours the restaurant offers fresh guacamole. I think it is made out of 1 avocado but costs $9.50! It seems to be the only fresh thing on the menu. Sad place. If you are ever in Ft. Lauderdale, check out Casa Frida - an amazing example of what Mexican food in an independent restaurant...
