McDonald's — Restaurant in Maryland

I never, ever leave reviews. I literally had to walk out of there.

So this location has "kiosks" where you type on to order food. I guess they're deactivated due to covid.

So I walk in. There's just a giant mob of people in front of the general cash register area.

One guy to the far right. Clearly he's waiting for his order.

3 cash register machines. No one manning them. Just people back there bagging and collecting food for people.

And again, a giant mob of people.

There is almost a semblance of a line on the leftish side, and almost a semblance of a line on the rightish side.

I entered through the right, and unable to get through the mob to the left side, I opted to join the line on the right.

So the lady is calling out numbers. Random people are walking up to collect orders. Maybe everyone ordered online?

Then people are walking in front of me - like they know something I don't.

All of a sudden, at one of the empty cash register machines, a lady starts manning it, and now the people who've walked in front of me are being helped.

How is this supposed to work?

Was I supposed to play roulette and choose one of the 4 cash registers to wait in front of and cut in front of everyone?

You can't run a business like this. This is ridiculous.

There are a million ways you could have done better but step 1 is organize your lines. Have barriers set up so it's clear who NEEDS TO ORDER and who is WAITING TO PICK UP!!

This McDonald’s location is dirty and treats paying customers disrespectfully.

This store charges for sauces and is not corporate owned. You can tell by the way the store inefficiently operates.

When I found they charged for sauces, I asked for my money back. The manager told me they couldn’t return my money because I didn’t have a receipt. I never got a receipt to begin with because the kiosk didn’t return a receipt. That’s not my problem. Second, my bag ripped and all the food and fries fell onto the counter. The manger tried to return the same fries that fell onto the counter in a different bag. I was disgusted. She gave me the same sandwhiches and nuggets as well.

The fries were stale, McChickens were soggy, the nuggets tasted old, and the sodas were flat.

I escalated the issue through a complaint on the McDonalds app. Kimberly, the store manger, reached out to me. She acknowledged what the manager did was wrong. She offered me to return the money on the fries only. I mentioned I wanted a full refund on the order to begin with, which the first manger refused because I didn’t have a receipt. She said she couldn’t do that because of the store owner.

Overall the whole situation was a messy ordeal. As a paying customer, you would think they would show some type of urgency, but they don’t. McDonald’s is no longer worth my money, especially, not this...

I found myself waiting by the Silver Spring Metro Station after 7 pm as I had to exit the train because of a police emergency further down the line. The restaurant is located on the corner with a lot of tree cover. It is a one story businesses. It has a small corner sign. The main orde counter has three registers. I was waited on by the manager. It was a little noisy so it was hard to hear her. I saw a pretty good deal on the dollar menu. You can mix & match two of three sandwiches for $3.50 including the McChicken and spicy McChicken. I ordered two of the spicy ones with an ice tea and what my daughter thought was a sparkling water. It turns out they don't sell that type of water despite what the manager seemed to indicate. We were handed a cup for the soda fountain station. After a refund I got her a bottled water for $1.99. As for my spicy McChicken sandwiches I only got one with the order even though I repeated the request at least twice when ordering. It was quite tasty with a nice texture and a good spicy flavor. My daughter tried to get the order corrected by speaking with the same manager. All she wanted to do was recharge us for a second one at regular price and not make it the two for $3.50 deal.
