Gave this place a try Friday night, would definitely like to give them another chance! They show promise! They close at 9, I went around 8:15 and the food was decent but it wasn’t fresh. It felt like they were just trying to hold out until closing. However I think if I try them again when they’re busier it’ll be perfect! I got two drumsticks and they were great! Meat was a little fatty but that’s not their fault! The sides were meh đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž green beans were good, but needed just a tad more flavor. Mashed potatoes (not pictured as my brother got then) were really good! Roasted potatoes just meh, nothing spectacular. The sweet potato fries were amazing definitely worth a try! (From a woman who doesn’t even really like sweet potatoes!) and the Rice was amazing too! There was a lot of oil at the bottom of the container which I’m not sure why for rice?? But it was still delish! However only complaint was a side of rice by itself (we couldn’t decide between rice or potatoes so we tried both!) the side by itself was $4 which, it wasn’t a small portion but still seems steep for one side? đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž They also have sauces to dip, a mild and hot. The mild was described as a mustard/mayonnaise sauce, it was delicious! And the Hot was a jalapeño sauce, it tasted HOT like they took jalapeños and threw them in the blender and put them in a cup 😂 if you like spice give it a try! Definitely want to try them again, but will wait until it’s busier!

I tried the 1/2 chicken platter with (2 sides) black beans and chaufa rice and a small extra side of fried plantains, I paid 19.05 for it. This was really really good!!! The chicken was fresh and juicy even at 730 at night and the sides I ordered were extremely good. If you order an extra side the small is plenty, the guy who made my platter jammed packed my fried plantains into the container. It was definitely worth the money I will be back. I'm so happy they fi ally have a great Peruvian spot in Eldersburg and I don't have to travel to Towson to get it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn't tried it yet in the area!!!!

It's not pizza! Ok Eldersburg, time to learn how to eat Peruvian food! No more running into Ellicott City or MoCo for ethnic food. We had the lomo saltado and chicken tacos. I love the double starch, fries and rice, but the vinegary-soy sauce-lightly spiced that the steak (top sirloin) is sautéd in makes the dish enjoyable. And we had chicken tacos, hubby polished them off. Tacos are just meat and cilantro and onions so real tacos, not tex-mex. They have horchata (hot chocolate without the heat and cocoa) so i will back for horchata. They also have chicha morada, a drink made from purple corn. Give it a try, try something new!

NEW REVIEW (5/5 STARS) I've updated my review to 5 stars after trying the place again on June 24th, 2021. I'll keep the old review to show how much this place has improved.

I'll start off with the best part of this place, which is the people that work here. They're good people and they are honest people. While there was a pricing concern when I grabbed my food today, I know for certain it wasn't on purpose and they were very kind and understanding and took my feedback. I want you to succeed!

Now, on to the food- I grabbed the 1/4 rotisserie with two sides. Sides were fried rice and Yucca, all Peruvian staples so it was a great order for a retry. It was delicious!! The chicken was moist, very flavorful, and not overcooked. The sides are much better portions and were also delicious. Last time I came my yucca was undercooked, this time it was cooked perfectly.

I'm glad I tried Mr. Jack again today, I'll definitely be back some more and look forward to the upcoming menu changes.

OLD REVIEW (2/5 STARS)

I'm giving it a two right now and will readjust if I try this place again. Up front, my recommendation is to wait.

I tried the fried chicken, the rotisserie chicken, and some of their sides.

The fried chicken I had today was dry as sand. It was dry, flavorless, and unenjoyable. You are either frying it too long or you're serving me old chicken that is sitting under a heat lamp. Don't do either, please.

The fried yucca is good when they prepare it properly. Today they did not so I had huge chunks of yucca that were raw in the middle.

The fried plantains are really good, the fried rice is really good, I like the beans.

The rotisserie chicken is great, and I enjoy it more now that they don't leave it out at room temperature next to raw food.

All in all, this might have potential but this place has massive...

Worst experience ever. Made an online order for 1/2 chicken plus two sides. When I got home I found out I was missing a side. Not a huge deal so I called the restaurant to make sure it would be ready upon my return back to the store (not the best to have to go back out in the pouring rain either) The guy who picked up didn’t understand what I was saying. After explaining to him for 10 mins, he said he can give me a refund plus my lg side for free. I drove back there and the guy I spoke with acted like he had dementia, since he had no idea what I was talking about. Finally he said he cannot give me a free side because he had already given me a refund. It was a side that was supposed to come with my meal! At this point I was too frustrated with him I had to leave before getting even more angry. What made me really upset was there was no apology for the misunderstanding and he kept repeating “I gave you a refund”, which I never asked for! Plus, it was 3 hours before closing time so there was no excuse in why I couldn’t even have the side I ordered or a different side. I never got a receipt proving I got a refund nor does my bank account reflect it. He just said “next time you order I will give you a lg side for free.” I questioned him how is he gonna know that when the system doesn’t keep track of that kind of information and he kept saying “when you order I’ll give it for free”. But how do you know that information when there is no way to keep track? He had a dumbfound look the entire time. Well guess what? No refund was ever returned to my account and I...
