This is the first time I’ve been here since the new owners took over. It’s difficult not to compare it to the previous owners. I was not impressed at all. Chicken with cashews was always my favorite here and it definitely is not the same. The cashews were always mixed into the dish and today they were just sprinkled on top. I also asked if they could make it spicy, but it didn’t come out that way. They don’t have a lunch menu on Saturdays. So we basically had to order an entire entrée, which didn’t come with anything but rice so we had to order extra things like soup and egg rolls separately and ended up taking a lot of food home. Not usually what you wanna spend for lunch. My aunt ordered some sort of beef with vegetables and she liked it a lot. I just wasn’t prepared to spend almost $30 for a Chinese lunch for one person. Make sure you ask for ice if you order water to drink because it clearly comes right out of the tap. Also make sure you ask for ice in your water if you ask for a refill because the water was warm. There were no other people in the restaurant at all while we were there from 11:30 to 12:30 and only one person came in to pick up an order the entire time that we were there. The old Peking Gourmet would have been swamped with business. I honestly don’t know that I would return to this place because it just wasn’t that great, especially for the money we paid. I will say at the end when he brought our check along with the fortune cookie they give you a strawberry mousse which was delicious. Unfortunately, I don’t believe this will be my favorite...

Peking Gourmet service has always been great and the food has always been what I wanted.
The first time I tried it I had the Orange Beef and was impressed by how tender it was. This was for delivery.
Because of how much I liked it I went on a day I was off and dined in by myself to see how the place felt. It has the classic “American Chinese restaurant” feel to it which I expected the white China plates with blue details etc etc.
Fantastic service, good sized portions, and great flavors. This place has become one of my favorite places for delivery during my work week. I had paid over the phone with my CC and told them I would tip cash, someone else signed for me and didn’t tell me they had arrived and let them leave without me giving a tip. The business called and asked if I had wanted to do a tip on my card and I had zero issue with them calling me. I appreciate their service and that didn’t bother me considering I wasn’t able to give him a cash tip.
Recommendations - Szechuan wontons, Steamed dumplings, Orange beef, Kung Pao Chicken (less onions), Egg rolls, Moo Shi Pork.
-update- The ownership has changed hands. We may actually see them re-open for dine in. The food was still excellent. If I recall from a conversation, one of the original owners is staying on as a chef. So the food you can still expect to be a...
Read moreOkay, everyone, I know the changing of owners is the big controversy here, but as a customer of Peking Gourmet for many, many years, I have to say it........the Kung pao chicken and general tsaos shrimp were phenomenal!!! They were just better, there I said it. The crisp on the proteins is to die for and the sauces are rich and delicious!! I will say the dumplings were not my favorite, a bit heavy on the ginger, so a bit perfumey, but husband said they were luscious. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls, they were a nice size with a lovely crisp wrap and inside was yummy. The original owners were so kind and welcoming, and I do miss them, but we had a very sweet, attentive waitress, and quite honestly, I am there for the food, not the company. Nice atmosphere, and the prices are still affordable. So, two very big thumbs up 👍 👍 I highly recommend for a lovely date night or a fun family...
